      MVP: Sophie Dwyer (Giants)

Well, after all that, Giants coasted home by 14. Vixens put everything into it but to no avail. Giants won every quarter. Price had a poor game for her, and Harten recovered after a poor start. The rest of the team were great all game.

        MVP: Sophie Dwyer.

She’s not just a star of the future, she’s a star of now.

Mundy got 22 CPRs and 77 NNPs….glad they’re highlighting her.

Could we even see Dwyer in the Diamonds for Constellation Cup? Certainly putting her hand up.

I prefer watching the Harten/Dwyer combo over Harten/Austin. I love how Dwyer has the no fuss attitude

Would it be wise to throw Dwyer into the Diamonds this year.
Considering she won’t have Harten with her, she has never played against the NZ defence style, if things start going pear shape, the coach can’t call a time out to have a chat about things.

I think she has great talent, but take things slowly.
We saw what happened to Kim Rav… who go put in the Diamonds at a similar age, she was burnt out by it all, after a couple years.

How many years was Ravillion in the Diamonds? From 2013 to 2017 or 2018? I found an article from 2019 saying she was back in contention after taking time off due to exhaustion.

So that’s five or six years ….was she really burnt out only after two?

I think Dwyer can afford to wait, its definitely a matter of when rather than if for her. Australia have Basset, Koenan, Wood, Tippet, Glasgow and maybe even Dwan or Garbin of they can get solid court time/find some form. Plus Austin to come in when she’s better. ATM I’d say it will be Tippet Wood Koenan and Glasgow for CC at the end of the year.

Dwyer is a star and it’s crazy to think that if Austin didn’t get injured she would have sat the bench most of the season. If anything it speaks volumes that we need expansion teams sooner rather than later

What’s even more crazy is the Giants have Letherbarrow who only got moved into the game side team a few weeks ago. She’s not that far behind Dwyer, and is definitely stronger than many of the other shooters in the competition right now I’d say. There are a lot of good young shooters coming through right now.

For me, Glasgow takes Garbin’s spot in the 12 and Dwyer takes Dwan’s spot in the wider squad.

I also think if Wallam can get some SSN court time next year, she could push for the WC. I don’t think Bassett will make either the CWG or WC team.
