NZ need to keep their grubby hands off her.
Congratulations Samason on a great debut. And congratulations Tully – you have been telling us! I loved her answer in the post match interview about what went through her mind before the final shot – “nothing really”.
I guess that is one of the good things of being a new face, with limited external expectations – fewer mental demons to wrestle with.
NZ have plenty of shooters, Samason is ours!
Imagine in a few years time a circle of Dwyer and Samason!
I believe that Samson’s heritage is Cook Islands and also Filipino. Not sure where she was born but has been in the NV pathway since she was very young. Pretty sure she played for Southern Saints in VNL originally in U 19s and has bounced around a few clubs since then. Samason played for the Australian school sport team in 2013 (at least I think it was that year, same cohort as Jenner).
Hands off NZ.
I wonder if Dame Noels is on the phone already.
Some of the imports in the SSN will have to go, surely players like Samason and Wallam, need to playing in the SSN,
because if not NZ or England or whoever, will find any little ties, and grab them.No import needs to go for Samason to get a contract. There are two open spots at Vixens 2022 for shooters (alongside MJ).
But yes for Wallam an import needs to go. Also Lucy Austin. TBirds should let Potgeiter go and sign Lucy Austin next year.
Tully, all of that seems to matter little to NZ. Even the slightest amount of kiwi in a player somewhere and they will be after them.
I guess they can go after her. We will have to wait and see what she does. But I see no reason why she’d leave Vixens. There are plenty of opportunities for young shooters to come through in Australia right now.
Pathways don’t seem to matter, Ekenasio (Wells) came thru all of them in Queensland.
But Netball NZ came calling and of she went.Ekenasio is a bit different in that she felt she was being ignored and wasn’t getting anywhere here. But you’re right, she was Aussie all the way coming up through the system.
One of those games, where the ball goes thru the net, more than the other team.
But they lost. If they keep the super shot for next year, then surely the 2 point area needs to the further away. The SS just needs to go, if SSN wants to have the best netball then the rules need to be internationally aligned, otherwise why would internationals want to play here? Why would young aussie prospects want to develop here?
Agree Jbss, watching a shooter who is by the post, pass out to the other shooter to try and get 1 extra point,
is cringe worthy. Often the ball is lost. It looks terrible and skill less. -
