      1/4 time: Lightning 14-12

      Koenen 8/8, Wood 6/6
      Kumwenda 9/11, Stanton 2/2

Competitive game so far, but a bit scrappy. Steph Wood having a great game for Lightning and a much improved performance from Stanton for Vixens.

Stanton not playing too badly, though she needs to be a bit stronger on Pretorius. Getting caught by her a lot and Stanton isn’t fast or agile enough to get around her.

Eddy has been slow this season and isn’t getting her hands to the ball. She was great in GD in pre season. I’d like to see her get a go at GD on wood today.

Vixens attack is starting to fall apart. Mundy and Moloney lack connection. Really am looking forward to see Mundy play with Watson next year.

Lightning skipping away a bit in the 2nd Q. Lead now 6. Lightning shooters still to miss a shot.

Vixens defence doing a good job of restricting Cara Koenen, but Steph Wood is stepping up to the mark and having a fabulous game. Both on 13/13 as Lightning leads 26-19.

Vixens defence today is awesome – shame the attack is still non-functional. MJ doing a great job almost single handed to pull in poor feeds and keep the circle rotating whilst her partner stutters around.
Agree Stanton is better – but still very poor & causing lots of errors from her teammates

                    1/2 time: Lightning 30-23

                    Koenen 17/18, Wood 13/14
                    Kumwenda 16/19, Stanton 6/7

Vixens’ attack breaking down with 7 turnovers in that Q and Lightning punished them to extend the lead to 7. Vixens also being heavily penalised as has been the case this year.

Stanton really stepping up today. It’s nice to see her lift her level, it’s paying dividends today.

Lightning just can’t put their foot on the pedal. They’re good at clutching out matches but too much scrappy play.

I really like Mundy in C. Think I prefer her there to WA. Hopefully she has the fitness to run it out. Mundy – Watson will look good

Have to give credit to Stanton. After not
Playing for around a month she is doing well.

Eddy is having a much better quarter here. On top of Scherian. Still want to see her in GD. Think she might come to life in that position.

                          3/4 time: Lightning 45-39

                          Koenen 23/25, Wood 14/15, Proscovia 8/8
                          Kumwenda 26/31, Stanton 12/13

Vixens had a great start to that 3rd Q and narrowed the gap to just 2 goals at one point, before Lightning steadied. Wood now playing WA. Vixens 58 penalties!

Maweni off. Strange incident. Her foot buckled under Kumwenda as they both hit the deck after going up for a rebound. Shimmin now on at GK. Lightning 48-41

I wonder if Barkmeyer is an option at WA? Moloney has done nothing in WA. Mundy has taken control in C though which is impressive for someone so inexperienced.

Could Vixens snatch this? What a finish!

What just happened? What an incredible finish!
