      How did Vixens do that?

      Eddy came up with a great play to win the ball towards the end. I’ve been critical of Eddy and just when she started to play well (in the 3rd) she was taken off ….??? Fortunately she same back. I really want to see her get a chance in GD, I just feel she would come to life and win a lot of ball.

      Similarly not sure why Mannix ever went off.

      Mundy or MJ for MVP for me. Defensively Vixens were great but that was more of a team performance than individual. Stanton also deserves a lot of credit for such a vastly improved performance.

      Can’t say I know what went wrong for Lightning. They just don’t seem to have that next gear. But certainly Mwani leaving the court didn’t help them.

        After 8:11 minutes of the last quarter, Lightning led 51-45. In the remaining 6:49 minutes, they scored just ONE goal, while Vixens added TEN including 2 super shots!

        Don’t know about anyone else, but I’m stunned! Well done Vixens!

          Lightning got spooked in the last few minutes. Vixens defence won it for them. Stanton finally showing some promise. I still don’t rate her movement but her accuracy was incredible. Happy for Vixens to get the win, clearly the events of last week put a fire in their bellies!

            Wow Vixens win. I watched the whole game and didn’t see that coming. They weren’t the better team and the penalties and turnovers weren’t on their side either. They just had the desire to fight it out though- never give up attitude! Stanton, especially could have the above sentiment written just for her. She made errors, should have put more up initially, but didn’t let anyone get in her head and kept fighting until the end. Good on her after a difficult few weeks.

              Lightning fell in a heap, why is Koenen being played at GA, she has slow movement and a very limited shooting range.

                Steph Wood was having a great game out the front, Lightning lost some of her playmaking skills by putting her at GS

                    I don’t know what Lightning is doing with some of their moves. They’ve got a great centre in their team and they keep playing her at WD??? But it was all working out okay until halfway through the last Q when they just fell in a hole.

                        Agreed, some weird positional moves by Byrne. I don’t think Cassidy in WD is awful but McAuliffe is wasted on the bench.

                            In the first 3 Qs of today’s game, Vixens were penalised heavily. The count at 3/4 time was 58-33 against Vixens. But then suddenly, in the last Q, it turned right around. In Q4, it was Lightning who was on the wrong end of an 18-8 count as Vixens stormed home.

                              Love Cassidy and McAuliffe and I think it’s great that they are showing their versatility but I don’t know why recently they haven’t been mostly as Cassidy in c and McAuliffe in WD

                                The only bad thing about the result of that game was that Lightning fell apart. Even tho’ they’re top of the ladder, their fade outs do not bode well for being contenders for the Premiership.

                                  I’m really glad that Stanton had a good game/better performance because it will do wonders for her confidence. I personally have a theory that her confidence was shot at the fever (especially by SM) and that she’s struggling psychologically in regards to sport performance. I also think that she will never make the diamonds regardless of form if SM is head coach because it just seems like there’s personal dislike there

                                  That’s just how it seems to me as an outsider and a viewer:)
