Bloody devastated! She looks like she is in a lot of pain now. Plus Keenan has gone off.
I really feel the shooting circle will struggle now.
Argh – they were doing so well!
I know you shouldn’t rely on one player but Wallam was doing brilliantly against Quashie.
So, now Fi Toner has an injury! And is being taken from the stadium in a wheelchair! This is awful. Leeds have lost their starting GK (Keenan), WD (Toner) and GS (Wallam) to injuries in this game! It’s horrendous.
And incredibly, despite all that, Mavericks only lead by 2 at 3/4 time. Rhinos couldn’t actually win, could they? Surely not.
Full time: Mavericks 43-39
An incredibly gutsy effort for Rhinos to only go down by 4 when they’ve lost 3 of their starting 7 to injury during the game. Not sure what the future holds for them now.
Well that was hard going.
I really hope all the injured players make really speedy recoveries.
Think Leeds were brilliant in their fight, they didn’t let their heads drop. Sienna Rushton came on at GS, against Quashie and played so well. I was pleasantly surprised, especially when Rhea Dixon at GA took charge and stepped up with Greirson at WA.
Didn’t really like Kat Ratnapala’s comments at the end. Quite snide when a team has lost 3 players to injuries.
I wouldn’t say Quashie and Trip are angels.
Puzzling call on Kindred at GK called for contact after Kadeen Corbin came flying at her? Very bizarre.
Really unimpressed with the post-match interview. Was awkward, yes, you don’t want to celebrate a win if the other team has lost players but to make comments about the physicality and ‘asking umpires for clarification ‘ – literally must have blinked for a long time and not seen some of Kadeen’s physicality and Quashie’s in the circle. Seemed a little sour.
Mavs looked poor tonight and should have won by a lot more if they are hoping to challenge for top four. Not been too impressed with what I’ve seen from them so far this weekend but they clearly have some great young guns that are stepping up when some of their more experienced players are away.
I will catch up on this game as it sounds like a good one. How devastating for a team to lose so many players to injury in one game. I really hope they are all OK.
@jinxibo Wallam is 26 so not super young. The tall shooters seems to be able to go longer in their careers though so she may still make a Diamonds team.- This reply was modified 4 years, 2 months ago by AllieC.
Well I thought she stood up brilliantly to Quashie when she was on Allie, and she is likely to be the next England GK…
