Leota out with a broken finger, Rowe still not 100% and told to stay away by coach.

Cholhok starts the game on the bench.

          QTR 1

          10 – 6 Lightning

Lightning not having things their own way. Clark at GS is proving not as easy to feed as Cholhok

            QTR 2

            26 – 17 Lightning

Stars kept the margin to 4 goals for most of the quarter only allowing it to blow out near the end. Nia Jones also picked up a caution too.

I also didn’t rate Robinson at WA, she lacked the punch and drive that the best WA’s have. I would love to see a ALJ and Clinton circle too, we saw Clinton at GA in preseason and I don’t remember it being a total disaster! Even if it was just for a few quarters or at least as another option.

My issue with her time at Lightning is that (I have no idea I’m making wild assumptions) I’m assuming she was being played largely at GK, where if she is a GS deep down she obviously isn’t going to develop at the rate they would want her to. With Proscovia, Wood, Koenen then the likes of Hunt and Lawrie amongst others I’m probably forgetting, she would never have been needed at GS for Lightning even in a training capacity. I don’t think Dragons are necessarily the team for her to develop at, as they will clearly be looking to Clinton more, but I would really like to see her develop her GS game

                QTR 3

                42 – 25 Lightning

Lightning brought on May and Cholhok this quarter. Game over.

Stars have had some small wins but it was never going to be enough keep up with the speed and accuracy of Lightning.

I’m wondering if Cholhok will be heading for SSN next season?

                    Lightning 58 Stars 30

Lightning played well for their win, not sure if they hit 4th gear.

Eaton the young GS for Stars looked promising and unfazed. Nia Jones loud and uncompromising as she continued to push and rally her team. She led from the front and stepped in to foil/slow the Lightning attack when they were flying down the court.

OMG, Lightning have found a young Kelly Jury, in Alice Harvey. Tall yet mobile. Dan Ryan said she’s not in the Roses Pathway.

She’s only 19 and got talent. I saw her in the all stars tournament and she has improved since then. I wonder if that’s the Sam May effect.

Kiri Wills she take at look at her if she’s looking for a tall defender.

Thanks for the updates Jinxibo. I could have got up to watch, but was just too damn tired!

@jinxibo I couldn’t believe that Harvey isn’t in the Roses programme – where did she come from originally> One of the “unfashionable” EN regions?? She’s a real raw talent – fast feet, great reach, good in the air – bit of coaching and she’ll be a worldbeater.

Loughborough definitely turning into the full package – lots of options from the bench bringing different styles of play. The sharp end of the season could be a real nailbiter!
