Madi Browne to the Magic would be huge. Wonder if CBass has sent her a text. Her glowing reviews of her time at the Magic seem genuine so might be a possibility?

Re my thoughts on the Steel’s Contract Tiers, this is also based on a comment that imports can be no higher that T3. This feels about right.

    Tier 1: Saunders; Selby-Rickit
    Tier 2: Burley, K Heffernan
    Tier 3: Fisher, Tui
    Tier 4: Savai’inaea, Woulf
    Tier 5: G Heffernan; Wilshier

I’m surprised not to see O’Connell signed. To me it doesn’t make much sense as Tui can play GS/GA unless Fisher is just a GS? Heffernan’s shooting stats have never been good. I saw O’Connell playing club netball down here and she looks lean and ready to go.

It really makes me wonder if it is Nat H going to Magic.
Maybe she made her intentions of leaving Swift’s earlier in the year, as she went from a regular at WA to not getting any court time at all. I think it’s only been the last round (or 2) that she has gotten any court time?

Anyways, if it is her, that’s a great pickup for Magic!

I know the Steel love their home grown talent but G Heffernan just doesn’t cut it for me. Her goal percentages need improvement, and as much as Tui is a good shooter, she never got court time this season so that could affect her game in some way. They should’ve signed Semple as the last shooter and she has already played with Fisher in the past for England. And then they could’ve worked on her fitness. I rewatched Semple in the VNSL (when she was fit) and she sunk shots from literally anywhere in the circle.

Can anyone see any of these potentially filling the spare spots for Magic and Pulse?

Magic need a WA, Pedersen would have been the option, but is having a break. Other than that nope.
So with regards to the Pulse, do they select 2 players from overseas, but with one having NZ eligibility.

or do they go down into the Beko (cant recall what it was called this year) and pull up some players from there.

I know Mystics coach said there is a vast difference between the two top tiers this season but somewhere along the line these players need to be tested.

I think this speculation is fanciful, but could these last spots be filled by Haythornthwaite, Manu’a and Pretorious?

@Museboy speculation is good – there must be a good reason for the delay. It must be someone coming from SSN final.

I do hope whoever the remaining 3 are, that they will be of use.

Okay so I just watched Sky Sports NZ and they have interviewed Ekenasio. Adine Wilson said to her “just wink your right eye, if the last player remaining initials are KR”

    Who is KR???? 🤷‍♂️😂😂😂

She also said that she’s interested in playing in the SSN.

@TB Katrina Rore they don’t need another defender in the Magic
