Don’t forget Kolose (?) was a replacement player last season because the contracted middie got injured. Can’t remember who it was?
Magic will include her in the team and play her throughout the season just like they did this season with Holly Fowler.
Simples
If that doesn’t work then we’ll use the extra player anyway because we have 2 players returning from maternity leave 😉
I just hope that extra player is ACD
Asher Grapes was the original – possibly the weakest in the mystics the year before (replacement for Mes) and also isn’t really strong enough to be starting WA, just like Kolose really wasn’t (I was impressed with TP Katie Te Ao when she came on a couple of times though) – – it seems a year of no beko/NNL did have a small effect on player development
I to am hoping they bring ACD back in Jinxibo – my mum heard/read somewhere that Magic were in talks to allow dispensation to have an 11th player named
Wow. Binnian Hunt and Manua to Pulse
Noticed the reference to Hunt being a dual passport holder.. wonder how much influence Taurua had on that one.
Who’s going to be on the sideline in that mid court..
Im really pleased with Hunt and Manua to round off the Pulse. The team certaintly feels more balanced with talent. I think will Fakahokotau know what she needs to do to earn a starting spot.
Is Manua eligible for the SF? If so it adds to the existing pool of defenders.
Still picking Souness to be captain.
Oh so both Hunt and Manua could eligible for the SF. Great question Wewood. I did look up both their profiles.
Would Manu’a now be eligible because she didn’t play NWC ‘19? She hasn’t played for the Diamonds since 2016.
WA Hunt (would’ve been a perfect fit for Magic!!)
C Souness
WD Gordon (though I find her much cleaner at WA/C)and Lokotui as an impact WD?
Just read the bloody article in full. Good to go for Ferns selection.
Right you are Kerryn re Hunt to Magic but oh well!
Actually, who would’ve been good for the Magic is Gordon.. Season 2023 maybe..
So is that all team rosters full now?
Excited Hunt gets the opportunity!
Also feel Manu’a played her best netball in NZ so this may be a great move for her.Phew! I hope that puts to rest any of that scurrilous gossip that Karla Pretorious is going to NZ  😉
Great move for Manu’a I think a change would be good for her form. Great opportunity for Hunt as well.
In regard to Manu’a representing NZ I’m the future, do you specifically have to declare a 4 year stand down period to change country of representation? Or is she automatically eligible because it’s been longer than 4 years?
Also it’s interesting because I remember her insisting she wanted to play for the Diamonds since she was younger but she might change her mind if that means she gets to play international tournaments.
Funnily enough NC I was going to ask the same question re Manu’a, but I assume from the article it’s fine as it stipulates she hasn’t played for the Diamonds since the 2016 Quad Series.
I also don’t recall Pitman renouncing her Australian playing eligibility for England, she just didn’t get selected for Diamonds anymore, and sort of tried to get in with the Ferns that season at the Pulse, pre landing with the Roses.
I think you’re right as well that playing for the Diamonds would have been Manu’a’s first preference but there’s a lot of others in the pecking order for her, and to be fair she’s only 25 so has two cycles in her to aim for the pinnacle events.
