                This is a total over reaction! How on earth are NZ’s top netballers possibly going to prepare for competitions when everything is called off. Yes omicron is here, it will be around for the year. Play the thing behind closed doors, cut the marae portion of the tournament out and put the players in hotels but for goodness sake give them some game time.
                I feel for the Ferns and Noels and co. International competition coming up – the SF have travelled to UK which was much higher risk (some still in MIQ due to Covid) – but they can’t play here.

                      The English Premier League has been an absolute mess this season. I can see the same thing happening in the ANZp. Rounds not happening because of possible contacts/infections etc.
                      I too feel for DNT, making the possible very impossible. I see the SSN teams are still playing their pre season games.

                        Yet I’m playing a golf tournament next weekend with over 200 attending. Sure we don’t hug and clamber over each other.
                        But Covid and it’s brother and sisters, is a air borne germ.

                        What’s the point of being vaccinated, waste of time.

                          Because vaccination reduces risk of admission to hospital, admission to ICU and death – not a waste of time to get vaccinated. Like seatbelts don’t prevent car crashes.

                          NNZ being way too careful to cancel Otaki. Even with an outbreak, the actual comp is still many weeks away, case numbers are low in NZ and everyone is now vaccinated so low risk of significant harm. They could even ask everyone to home quarantine for 7 days with home RAT testing if they are worried about asymptomatic spread.

                            I agree with you Mcleod again, it is pathetic. This is a netball forum so I am not going to say what I really want to say. But you are lucky you can do your golf tournament, my daughter is suppose to be playing a tournament this weekend but once again it is cancelled. I cant see any secondary school tournaments once again this year – maybe winter tournament might get the go ahead. So disappointing for the students.
