I reckon Poi would do better if she actually played with shooters who moved. Lets face it Bird was awful, TP now much better.
Look at what Poi did in the 2021 Con cup, played with a moving GS and the skill and ability of Ekenasio.
Tactix need a clean out in that circle, get some fresh exciting speed, not sloths.

Mes was fantastic, and thought MSB had a excellent return.

Plus I’d say Ekenasio is weeks if not 2 or months away from a return to court.

@wewood thats what the commentators commented on too :wacko: looking the magic was the right move for her, i found her previously under whelming but maybe i should take that back

@RMB I haven’t seen Mes go to the post like that (albeit it was only 15 minutes) since she played Fast5. And, admittedly there was little pressure over the shot from Fitzpatrick and MSB, but it was an encouraging start – her first look was always to the post, not dishing off which was great.

Once Ekenasio starts easing her way back in, it will be interesting to see how her and Mes rotate the circle. Mes was taking the front cuts in the time she played but I think she’s so lethal under the post and on the base line. However, may have been to get Rowland’s confidence up considering she was playing the full game.

Re Tactix, I just see them bumbling along for the season and actually missing finals if they continue that play. I don’t think their performances (if they continue) will do anything for Poi’s chances to get back into the Ferns.

Wewood, think with Bayes/Grace/Maria when she was there, the instructions would’ve been ‘throw into Grace or Maria’. So it’s great to see her getting stuck in there. Unsure about hopes for the black dress, plenty of other players chasing that spot. Which she’ll know only too well, maybe just having a great ANZ season is her main focus at the moment.

Maybe WeWood, it’ll be telling as to how her season goes. She won’t if she knows she can’t make a positive impact on SF team. Me? Hell I’d be there regardless but she’s ‘what’s best for the team’. So frustrating sometimes for me lol

I guess those rules are in place for a reason seems like a bit of a “sore loser” move on the mystics part
The mystics fought hard but not enough, I don’t think it would of made a huge difference
