I reckon Poi would do better if she actually played with shooters who moved. Lets face it Bird was awful, TP now much better.
Look at what Poi did in the 2021 Con cup, played with a moving GS and the skill and ability of Ekenasio.
Tactix need a clean out in that circle, get some fresh exciting speed, not sloths.

Mes was fantastic, and thought MSB had a excellent return.

Plus I’d say Ekenasio is weeks if not 2 or months away from a return to court.

that was the comment from the commentators too! i can see her reasoning behind going to the Magic in that case

@wewood thats what the commentators commented on too  looking the magic was the right move for her, i found her previously under whelming but maybe i should take that back

@mcleod i watched the game at the chch stadium and completely agree, the shooting is very underwhelming, even on inside netball the commented MDH should of recruited some more shooters, yes they have Glen & Koloto but they are both very young, maybe she should of poached a player with some experience? Sadly in this round we may see some of them not up to their full fitness, covid can knock them around considerably

@RMB I haven’t seen Mes go to the post like that (albeit it was only 15 minutes) since she played Fast5. And, admittedly there was little pressure over the shot from Fitzpatrick and MSB, but it was an encouraging start – her first look was always to the post, not dishing off which was great.

Once Ekenasio starts easing her way back in, it will be interesting to see how her and Mes rotate the circle. Mes was taking the front cuts in the time she played but I think she’s so lethal under the post and on the base line. However, may have been to get Rowland’s confidence up considering she was playing the full game.

Re Tactix, I just see them bumbling along for the season and actually missing finals if they continue that play. I don’t think their performances (if they continue) will do anything for Poi’s chances to get back into the Ferns.

@mcleod agree on Mes maybe she wants that black dress back. I’m a tactix supporter but I think the best they could hope for this year is the top 3 :( I was at the arena & Burger was getting super frustrated with Nelau-Caucau, maybe she’d work better with Llyod??
Feel bad for Poi she wasn’t the one playing bad
All teams are going to have a messy season, even though it’s 7 days isolation for COVID they still have to be cleared by the team doctor & be up with their fitness

Wewood, think with Bayes/Grace/Maria when she was there, the instructions would’ve been ‘throw into Grace or Maria’. So it’s great to see her getting stuck in there. Unsure about hopes for the black dress, plenty of other players chasing that spot. Which she’ll know only too well, maybe just having a great ANZ season is her main focus at the moment.

Minkie if Bailey continues to play with the freedom she showed in that 15 minutes (and can string four quarter performances together) I suspect she will be asked to make herself available for the Ferns.

Maybe WeWood, it’ll be telling as to how her season goes. She won’t if she knows she can’t make a positive impact on SF team. Me? Hell I’d be there regardless but she’s ‘what’s best for the team’. So frustrating sometimes for me lol

The Northern Mystics have filed a complaint following their match against the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic at the weekend over an alleged breach of rules.

I guess those rules are in place for a reason seems like a bit of a “sore loser” move on the mystics part
The mystics fought hard but not enough, I don’t think it would of made a huge difference

@RMB totally agree with you about the Mystics, it does come across as petty and as seeing that the Magic weren’t as good after the first quarter maybe her so called advice wasn’t helping hahaha. Headline is a bit clickbait as it went no further than that.

@nate it is sort of a Karen move :negative:
Sounds like it’s going no further which is good

I think it’s a very amateur move from Magic. Surely they should know this rule?
Mystics well within their rights to call this out. Magic is my team, but if they don’t know basic rules of how coaching is to be done etc………….then they’ll have to deal with whatever punishment comes with it.

It was on 1 News tonight that the complaint was upheld and Magic was issued a formal warning.
