This is a crazy stat… the general play turnovers at the moment, halfway through the 3rd Q:

      Mystics 19 – Stars 5

      Score is 43-24!

Am I right in listing all of Leana de Bruin’s NZ club teams?

            Northern Force, Mystics, Stars
            Magic
Shakers (why do I feel she started there when she arrived in NZ?)
            Sting, Steel

              3/4 time: Stars 47-27

              Wilson 29/35 (83%)
              Malesala 2/3 (67%)

              Falkner 12/15 (80%)
              Vui 14/19 (74%)

Another dominant quarter for Stars. As good as they have been, Mystics has been poor. The loss of Grace Nweke is big, but surely it’s not THIS big.

Are we still going to pretend that the Mystics aren’t a one trick pony team? They are toothless without Nweke and the outlet that she provides. They have now lost to the bottom placed teams and have now been thrashed by one of the top teams without Nweke. They need her back to have any chance.

I thought Namana did well in the last quarter. The Steel should have picked her up last year when she was down here.

Thanks @Kerryn. Knew the stint at the Sting was brief.

If I’m correct, de Bruin moved north to the Magic in ‘03 with Van Dyk?

Faulkner is playing very sub pa. I do not see her getting even a trial for the SF at this stage

I’m hoping the Steel get a win today. The Magic only arrived in town at 8.00am this morning after having their flight turned back last night because the weather was so bad down here. They spent the night in Christchurch instead.

I haven’t seen the young centre for Steel on at the moment. Having good impact. And while no ill will to the likes of de Bruin or Purvis, it is nice to see young talent promoted.

Steel is well on top at the moment. They scored the last 5 goals of the first Q to lead it 17-10, and they’ve started out well in the 2nd quarter too. Up 23-13
