What a game that was. A crucial result for both teams. That assures Stars of a finals spot. Now it’s just whether they finish 1,2 or 3. Steel is now out of the running. What a shame. a Steel win would have provided much more interest.

Tactix up 13-11 after the first quarter against Magic. They now lead 16-14 in what is a bit of a scrappy match.

              1/2 time: Magic 27-25

              Bird 16/20 (80%)

Claire Kersten having a strong game for Magic. 25 feeds, 13 assists and no turnovers to halftime. Tactix looking a bit disjointed in attack, but still well in it.

Why’s deBruin playing for Magic again? Where is Tong?

                    3/4 time: Magic 43-37

                    Bird 26/30 (87%)

                    Mes 20/32 (63%)

Magic continues to power ahead with a strong quarter as the turnovers mount up heavily against Tactix. In contrast, it’s been a controlled performance from Magic.

Incredible last quarter so far. Tactix has tied it up at 49-49.

What’s better than one extra-time game on a Sunday afternoon?

How about two extra-time games back-to-back on a Sunday afternoon!!!

                        That’s right. It’s extra time again. 51-51

Well, extra time has been totally one-way traffic. Eventually, the turnovers killed off Tactix’s chances. Magic added 6 goals to 0 in extra time and take out the match 57-51.

I thought the interplays between Mes, Ekenasio and Kersten were notably smooth. Is Kersten finally finding her form?

Enjoyed the end of both games.

Disappointed that the Steel are now out of contention. Tui shot that ball too soon, I feel like Saunders should have yelled at her to not take the shot. G Heffernan threw away too much ball today as well. Good on the Stars though, it makes for an interesting week to see where the finals are going to be played.

Magic should have easily won their game too. They had a heck of a lot more shots at goal, they just weren’t converted. I’m not sure what is up with the Tactix. If the Magic shooting was on they would have been thrashed today. I just don’t know where it’s falling apart for the Tactix, the shooters stats weren’t too bad today. Where is it coming apart for them?

Defence end, through court play and mainly not playing as a team and disconnection.

Mes got a few offensive rebounds but that % and choice of shot needs to improve. Still a headscratcher why Magic are able to play LdB again when theyre defenders were all fit, not sure you should be able to bring in a defender for a shooter but it is what it is.
