Did Falkner, Jury and Manu’a play at Magic at the same time?
I’m not sure if people outside of NZ have to listen to the sky sport commentary, but I swear to god if I could only listen to them and not see the game I would honestly think that Mystics were playing against themselves
3/4 time: Mystics 47-41
Dunn 32/35 (91%)
Metuarau 9/13 (69%)Nweke 38/40 (95%)
Falkner 9/14 (64%)That was a dominant qtr from Mystics as the defending champs roared into life, winning it 17-11. A good introduction of Carys Stythe at GD And Nweke had 15/15 for the Q.
@TB without looking it up I think they might’ve
Full time: Mystics 66-60
Dunn 45/49 (92%)
Metuarau 15/19 (79%)
TOTAL 60/68 (88%)Nweke 49/51 (96%)
Falkner 11/16 (69%)
Vui 6/7 (86%)
TOTAL 66/74 (89%)Penalties: Pul 44-40
Turnovers: Pul 20-17MVP: Grace Nweke (Mystics)
On demand available 30 minutes after the games finish. That’s great to know and wonderful it’s so prompt.
Jury and Manu’a played for the magic in 2016 then in 2017 when the ANZ championship was over Manu’a went to the giants with Julie Fitzgerald and that was the year Faulkner was signed along with Jury
Tactix Coach to miss Stars game as close contact. It’s an article on Stuff. In the same article it mentions Ellie Bird is continuing recovery from a fractured tibia.
Theres also another three articles on Stuff if anyone wants to have a read.I thought the Pulse made a good start to the season. Bummer not to get the bonus point but can see plenty of growth. Also enjoyed Wai Taumaumu coaching observations.
The Mystics put their foot down with tactical changes in the second half. Would love to see Nweke be able to replicate her ANZp form internationally.
Super high score game with no super shots.
No supershot and no time outs…better from that perspective.
Dunn looked solid but the Pulse were shakey in patches. Pretty good D by the Mystics. Why so many subs by the Pulse? I thought Souness was doing ok. Lokotui failed to contain Toeva. Mystics looked the better side. Nweke sure can leap. I think the Pulse will improve when Gordon comes back and they get used to all the new combinations.
Re so many Pulse subs. A number of players and replacement players were on managed time due to covid recovery – Wai referred to it in the after match interview.
@TB agree with you about Jury.
@Kerryn was the sky commentators Nigel & Deb? Thats who we had live stream outside NZ. Was annoying hering them rave about certain players constantly…. cough cough ( toeava) (nweke) cough cough….Imo i liked Mystics game better from round 1 without Nweke, yes yes gonna cop the hate but i cant stand any team that just play through the tall shooter ( likes of Nweke, Aiken and Fowler), its boring to watch, yes we get that ya heaps taller then everyone on court… sigh.
Was also impressed with Dunn, shes looking fit and hopefully that continues throughout the season and she doesnt disappear again.
Funnily enough i dont see Wai ever saying that the Mystics didnt win and that the Pulse lost that game…?
