Magic are definitely missing their WA (Wilbore I think it was) from last week. That quarter really showed the importance of a specialist WA

@nachosreturn – they should’ve learnt that last year!! and agree about Magic needing Tong/Maihi on

I’m all for Manu’ua going back to aussie – just really unpleasant to watch

Magic should have given Chelsea Pitman a call.
What is Grace Kara doing? Use her as their “fill in” 🤷‍♂️

3 specialist WDs occupying all 3 midcourt positions. And there 4th midcourt option is a WD too 🤦‍♂️

This is so hard to watch!

After how she played last week, surely Wilbore must have COVID to not get a call back/be replaced by Saunders??

Edgecombe could/should be filling that WD spot, not a new player.

Mikaere in the half time comments talking about a lot of changes in their side this week?

Might allude to the absolute schmozzle of 30 minutes from the Magic?

I still feel the knock/going off of Mes, changed everything. By the time she came back on, Pulse were full steam ahead.

Bailey Mes IMO is best on court (so far) for Magic. Looking good for SFs.

Back to being super frustrated with the magic’s coaching decisions
Mikaere not Maihi was the one being beaten
Agree Edgecombe should be playing WD – I don’t think she was playing that badly (positioning etc), just looked like a massive case of nerves playing a new position

I am liking the Mes/Rowland combination.

@Cb98 I was just talking about the Magic coaching with my mum, it’s been the issue for years – started with Marg Forsythe – she wasn’t great at that level – Amigene was her assistant, and we know how that turned out, and now we’ve got MJ whoh was her assistant – can they not see that using the assistant for a (I use this term loosely) failed coach doesn’t work?? this year all they needed was a strong WA recruited and Magic would’ve been away laughing… is it too late to steal Dan and Chelsea???

I usually like to try to see the positives when it comes to Magic, but it’s been the same for how many years now? and I honestly wouldn’t blame Sam if she looked at different options for next year if this keeps up

Magic building pressure, they had the gap down to 8, but up comes Kelly Jury with a vital touch to steady Pulse. Lead is back to 11.

Agree with @TB, Mes is the best thing about the Magic at the moment and has backed up her solid 15 minutes last week with a strong three quarters so far.

Comments re Manu’a, our shooters need to be roughed up pre CWG. They’re a bit precious IMO and then get a culture shock when they play Aus/Eng/Jam. So keep at it I say 😂

    3/4 time: Pulse 44-34

    Dunn 33/36 (92%)
    Metuarau 11/13 (85%)

    Rowland 12/13 (92%)
    Mes 17/19 (89%)

Magic really lifted in that Q, but for all their efforts, they only took 2 goals out of Pulse’s lead. Barring something extraordinary, Pulse should go on to a deserved win.

@Kerryn I’m also not a fan of using the assistant coach as the new head coach. Especially if they’ve had a loosing record.

She only got one quarter, but Ekenasio seems like she is a long way from getting to full fitness.
