Possibly the Mystics strongest lineup (and Toeava). Are the Steel playing a tactical game leaving Fisher on the bench?

Saunders a bit off tonight. A number of penalties/turnovers. Uncharacteristic for her, maybe a change at quarter time?

            1/4 time: Mystics 19-9

            Tui 4/5 (80%)
            Heffernan 5/8 (63%)

            Nweke 15/16 (94%)
            Falkner 4/5 (80%)

Mystics pretty much did as they liked in that Q. Nweke with 15 goals. So strange that Fisher didn’t start. She’s been warming up courtside but the damage may already be done.

And Fisher is now on for the second Q. Mystics up 22-11.

Fisher carrying a knee injury she sustained during training, hence missing the first quarter

Fisher injured her knee in training during the week. Apparently it’s feeling a bit better today. But she’s on now!

Fisher with her knee strapped, so clearly a cautious approach being taken with her in this match.

Steel need to keep getting their arms up over the feed – multiple gains this quarter from off feeds coz the midcourt got their arms up

                          1/2 time: Mystics 32-22

                          Fisher 7/8 (88%)
                          Tui 10/14 (71%)

                          Nweke 22/24 (92%)
                          Falkner 10/11 (91%)

Definitely a much improved performance from Steel in that quarter (13-13) but Mystics still with a comfortable lead. And Toeava is still on the bench if they need her.

Steel have started this 3rd Q well, including Kate Burley with a good possession gain against her old team. Lead back to 7.

A couple of shooting misses at the worst possible time for Steel, just as they were mounting a comeback. Lead is back out to 10 for Mystics.

                                3/4 time: Mystics 47-35

                                Fisher 13/17 (76%)
                                Tui 17/22 (77%)

                                Nweke 36/38 (95%)
                                Vui 1/1 (100%)

Steel challenged in that Q, but a few missed opportunities hurt them and Mystics finished strongly to extend their lead to 12 goals. Tayla Earle has had a strong game so far.

Sadly, it’s all falling apart for Steel right now. Meanwhile the Toeava-Nweke show is just dominating. Mystics by 20!
