Earle earning my vote for centre of the round
This is incredible. At the current rate, Mystics will score close to 30 goals in this last Q. The Steel defence has no answer.
Steel attack has no answers either!
The Toeava-Nweke show is the most boring show in town! Mind you the commentator is raving about them so much so that I have muted her.
Fitzpatrick was in terrific form tonight with 7 gains. She made life a misery for the Steel attackers. At the other end, Nweke was unstoppable and the combination with Toeava was on absolute fire. The defending champs looking very strong once again.
@Jayceenz totally agree with the most boring combo, they can be on fire during the anz all they want but weve seen how little that combo can do on the international stage. I can never see Toeava ever making SF again, her stepping, directing play aka replaying the ball down court and the running through her defender is not great.
I think @Ian you should be rewording and saying Nwekes Height was unstoppable 🤣😉

Toeava can be amazeballs in the ANZ, but at ferns level she is a ghost.
It would be good if Toeava could be given some low pressure game time in the black dress (e.g. against a lower ranked team) to find her feet on the international stage
Lost interest in the game by half time due to the score line by then. There’s no chance of coming back from this sort of game without a 2 point shot option.
@HBHP nowadays the Ferns don’t play lower teams except at the two major events, so there’s no way she can just have an ease into games without raking her in the 12 squad for cwg or worlds and tbh nowadays you can’t be a stagnant one position playing unless say a goalscorer is the exception. So ease into internationals but then still verse the top teams which she has already struggled playing against.
Cause let’s be honest the other top 4 teams have better defence lineups than any of the anz champs teams hence why she struggles to feed her one target of nweke because nweke also struggles cause height only can’t work. Key example is why Jamaica haven’t made it above number 3.
I quite enjoy watching Mystics play. The balls to Nweke aren’t just a “throw-n-hope”(like what you see with Fever). Yes the majority of the passes are high balls, but it’s put into good space.
Falkner is looking good at GA, as is Bailey Mes. This must be a good thing for Ferns, it’s the position they really struggled with at the Quad series.I feel Tayla Earle is really putting her hand up for selections. She’s been running well at both C/WD. I doubt she’ll get a call up, but she’s my pick for midcourter so far.
Does anyone know why Binnian Hunt, isn’t in the Pulse’s lineup? I thought she was a contracted player.
Netballgirl – I believe that she, like quite a few of the ANZ players, has recently had Covid and is on the recovery plan.
I think there is a strong possibility that Eke will be good to go come the Comm Games. The mind is there, the body isn’t up to speed yet but she has a few months to get into shape.
I thought Burley did great for the Steel tonight getting up for a couple of high balls against Nweke. She really does have some springs. I wish Erena and Jury could get some of those.
Fitzpatrick was all class and the Steel attack didn’t have much of an answer. Unsure why they persist with Heffernan at GA when her shooting percentages have been so low over her career.
Netball must be the only sport where you can get one or two rounds into a season and people are already picking who should and shouldn’t be in the national team. They don’t even mention All Black prospects until just before the semi’s start with rugby.
@netballgirl I had heard that Hunt is injured and it wasn’t looking very good.- This reply was modified 2 years, 6 months ago by Nesian.
