My match of the round is Mystics vs Pulse. The Pulse will be hoping to improve their second half performance. Whilst the Mystics will be trying to exert their dominance.

Also think the Magic vs Tactix will be a goodie. Ekenasio will need to continue building up her minutes and an opportunity for Poi put her hand up against Kersten/Winders.

Stars vs Steel, two steady teams. Vital points.

Big match up for me will be Poi v Winders/Kersten. If Kimi is at her best the Magic C’s whoever they use won’t get a look in.

Still can’t get over the Magic not having a WA. What a bumbling mess last game.

McLeod, I’d love for Kimi to have a really strong driving game. IMO she has improved in the games this season.
Magic have once again made some interesting choices – just like the Ferns being hurt by not having a specialist centre, Magic are showing that they need a specialist WA. Why they didn’t go after one defies logic.

Tactix have uploaded stories to Instagram and Poi has her knee heavily strapped.

Phoenix Karaka is not in the photo the Mystics have posted this morning. I’m hoping its not delayed concussion after the fall last weekend. It may be her thigh that was so heavily strapped.
Fa’aumu Ioane is pictured so she might be back this week.

                        1/4 time: Mystics 20-17

                        Nweke 19/20 (95%)
                        Falkner 1/3 (33%)

                        Dunn 10/11 (91%)
                        Metuarau 7/10 (70%)

A very high scoring good quality first quarter sees Mystics up by 3. Grace Nweke dominated the scoring for Mystics, while Pulse shooters shared the load more evenly.

Can any Kiwis explain the face tattoos for the umpire? Is it a cultural thing?

Quiet game from Faulkner so far, needing to take a few more shots as Jury gets her timing in on Nweke

                              1/2 time: Pulse 33-30

                              Nweke 27/29 (93%)
                              Falkner 3/6 (50%)

                              Dunn 18/20 (90%)
                              Metuarau 15/18 (83%)

Pulse takes the lead with a strong Q. Jury was great in that Q with 3 gains. Metuarau and Souness are having terrific games in attack. Are Mystics too dependent on Nweke?
