        1/4 time: Mystics 16-15

        Nweke 13/13 (100%)
        Falkner 3/4 (75%)

        Fisher 11/12 (92%)
        Allan 0/1 (0%)

Very competitive opening quarter. The visitors went on a 7-2 run to take the lead at one stage before Mystics fought back to claim the lead. Steel with 3 more shots.

          1/2 time: Mystics 35-27

          Nweke 30/30 (100%)
          Vui 1/2 (50%)

          Fisher 20/21 (95%)
          Heffernan 7/12 (58%)

A big 2nd quarter from Mystics stamping some sort of authority on the game. Tayla Earle having a cracker of a game with 17 assists. Only 7 turnovers against Mystics so far

                TOTAL 67/76 (88%)

                Fisher 47/50 (94%)
                G Heffernan 12/18 (67%)
                Allan 0/3 (0%)
                TOTAL 59/71 (83%)

                Assists: Earle 30
                Gains: K Heffernan 4

                MVP: Tayla Earle (Mystics)

Good win for Mystics. Steel won the 4th Q as Mystics took their foot off the pedal somewhat with the match beyond doubt. Tayla Earle once again had a terrific game at centre with 30 assists and Grace Nweke was basically unstoppable for the 3 quarters she was on.

What an incredible start to the season for Tayla Earle. I’m hoping she can solve the Ferns midcourt issues!

just seen a post by the magic with a countdown to the game, and it looks very much like the back of Leana de Bruins head – and at 44 (as mentioned in commentary yesterday) I’m thinking she is the mystery player joining them for todays game – also looks like Simmone Willboar is in the pic too (WA from game 1)

edit scrape that about Simmone, the next pic shows her hand all splinted up 🙁

They need a WA not a retired defender.

I haven’t spotted Tong or Maihi in anything so they are potentially short on defence (fairy ironic with how defence heavy the signed 10 were), I thought Edgecumbe played well last week at WA, and will only get better, but definetely needs a strong WA to learn from
