Steel is right in this game. Mystics lead 28-27 and the home crowd is roaring the Steel on.

Never underestimate a Steel team under pressure as Pulse discovered!! Going to be an interesting second half.

                1/2 time: Mystics 30-29

                Fisher 19/20
                Tui 3/4

                Nweke 28/33
                Vui 2/5

Steel won that 2nd Q 17-13 and are looking good. Interesting that the shooting stats of both sides are so similar… Steel 29/37 and Mystics 30/38.

Steel in front! But now a loose pass and who’s there to collect. Fitzpatrick of course.

                    3/4 time: Steel 48-46

                    Fisher 32/34
                    Heffernan 7/14

                    Nweke 41/49
                    Vui 5/8

A late surge from Mystics in the 3rd Q and Steel goes into the last Q up by just 2. Anyone’s game.

Steel holding on well here, up 62-59 with under 2 mins left. Can Mystics pull something out to come back?

Well done Steel! I knew you had it in you. Congrats Saunders on 150 games!

Really loving these Heffernen sisters. Things just seem to flow with these girls.

@NZChampion – Georgia Heffernen has come back from that ACL reconstruction with a vastly improved shooting percentage. I’d never really paid much attention to her prior to when the injury happened but recall reading many many comments questioning why she was rated as a shooter. But she’s been very very solid this season.
Saviour is great as a shooter, last week she was off but it was her first game post covid. This Steel team has a very competent shooting end for 2022.

As I commented earlier I had the feeling that without Falkner in and without height in the defence end (Stythe) that Steel would take it out. Should have trusted instinct and changed my tipping 🙂

Well done Steel, you deserved the W and congrats to Shannon on her 150.
