Woo hoo Steel. Great for Saunders.
I love watching Fisher, except when she gets a mild case of the yips.
I don’t think Mystics can use not having Falkner (not a current SF) and Stythe (only a TP) as an excuse to lose when Vui is a current SF squad member and have 3 SF’s (yes I’m counting MSB as she is very much at SF level despite her successive injuries) in the 3 defensive positions.
Once again Steel just did what Steel do best – play their own game and never gave up, and it is very much a full team effort
Full time: Steel 64-59
Fisher 41/45 (91%)
Tui 12/13 (92%)
G Heffernan 11/19 (58%)
TOTAL 64/77 (83%)Nweke 50/59 (85%)
Vui 9/13 (69%)
TOTAL 59/72 (82%)Assists: Saunders 24
Gains: Fitzpatrick 6MVP: Shannon Saunders (Steel)
Great win by the Steel and even though I support them I didn’t see that one coming.
Even though the Steel defensive unit is undersized in comparison to some teams they do work together really well.
I’m not sure if the Steel shooters rotation was forced by player restriction or if it was for tactical reasons but it seemed to work well. Heffernan over the last two games has been a clutch shooter which is great to see, I thought she might have gone close to being MVP against the Pulse although she really needs to get her accuracy up.
Class game by Saunders, leading by example and well done on her 150th.
Steel treasured the ball. Mystics hmmmm!!!!.
Love Saunders. She is so fit and amazing footspeed. Well done to the Steel. Fisher is really improving. Would be interesting to see how Nweke would cope in the SSN league. She got 11 rebounds in this game. Don’t feel she’s getting a pushed much in this league.
I wish sky sport would stop showing the coaches so much during the game. The coverage becomes very disjointed and doesn’t really add to the excitement of the game.Gordon on the bench and Ekenasio on full minutes.

Where’s Mes? Covid?
I feel for this magic side, I feel like a full game of Eke and Mes together is what they really are longing for in the attack end.1/4 time: Pulse 12-9
Rowland 7/8 (88%)
Ekenasio 2/3 (67%)Dunn 8/8 (100%)
Metuarau 4/5 (80%)A competitive opening Q. Pulse with the edge, thanks largely to Kelly Jury at the back.
1/2 time: Pulse 23-17
Ekenasio 5/9 (56%)
Leaver 4/4 (100%)Dunn 18/18 (100%)
Metuarau 5/6 (83%)A stack of turnovers from both sides, but it’s just not there for Magic in attack today, unfortunately. Just 1 less attempt so far, but down by 6.
