Totally agree about Nweke. Crying because she’s getting pushed around us a real concern. Don’t think she’s ready. I would take Dunn over her
@Thunder123 – I heard a mention Lisa Mather had an injury.
Re Mystics – a brief few lines flashed up on one of my screens this morning that Fitzpatrick is retiring after 2023 season to spend more time with the children.
There’s only one way for Nweke to learn and that’s through exposure.
Remember how badly Harrison messed with George Fisher last year in the game George ended up with a concussion? Harrison seems to have a way of really getting into these players headsCan’t take a player who gets emotional when things get tense.
Interesting people are ready for Nweke to be out of the Ferns team for Dunn (who I think should be in there). But no one says the same about Wilson, who was benched for a half and has had some very up-and-down shooting stats 🤷♂️
Unfortunately I feel she’d be still included in the Ferns team. But not at the expense of Nweke, but at the expense of Dunn. Dunn IMO should definitely be there. If fitness is her only issue, I hope she’s done extra work to get it up.Harrison definitely got into Nweke’s head. But I thought this was the worst feeding game by Mystics. A lot of their feeds were a throw-and-hope lob to Nweke. Most weeks they have been quite controlled feeds……….YES a lot of lobs, but the space was very obvious for it. Yesterday they seemed forced, even when she was double teamed.
With CWGs as the goal, this is the type of defence we want our shooters to be against. In the end Nweke still had good shooting stats, and still dominated. We cannot say the same for Wilson.

I”m not sure if it’s been mentioned but can’t remember reading anything on it – but can I just point out that Stars were down by 6 when Malesala came on, and only lost by 3, so the 23 minutes she was on – Stars actually scored more goals… and against what would be the Mystics top defensive lineup… all by taking off the SF’s main shooter for the past year or two…
I wouldn’t include Wilson either. She’s had another average season. The stars actually had more attempts than the Mystics but shooting let them down. I do hope Ekenasio is primed for CGs because we need her. I would also choose Metuarau and Dunn. A bit undecided about the 4th shooter.

How about Dunn, Mes, Ekenasio, Metuarau
Neither Wilson or Nweke seem to be deserving of selection so leave both of them at home. Mes is a great GS, especially when partnered with Ekenasio in a non Magic environment. Then you also have the Pulse shooting combo, plus Ekenasio has played with Dunn plenty of times before.
I’d be excited about this attack end, but we all know it won’t happen. Wilson and Nweke will be going to Birmingham regardless.

Wilson definitely not deserving. But how is Nweke not deserving?
How do you put Mes over Nweke? In saying that, I do like the 4 shooters you selected. Very versatile.
My four would be Nweke Dunn Ekenasio Mes
If Alyiah has Dunn the hard work, has reached the so called yo-yo test. Then she fully deserves to go to Com Games.
We close out Round 9 with @SteelNetball hosting @PulseNetball in Dunedin at 7.15pm tonight.

Can you keep changing the coaches? Thats what happens with the Warriors doesnt it? The past couple of years they have started out with a good line up… Last year they thought Bassett would help that didnt work, this year Rore, Mes, Kersten and Ekanesio, that didnt really go to plan either. Ill give MJ credit where credit due she looks more interested than Amigene
she certainly was getting emotional wasnt she? I noticed than vs the Men and the Roses too, i think sometimes we forget that shes only 20, but in saying that if she wants to play at an international level shes gotta leave the fustrations off the court.
At the start i would of said take Mes but she had a shockers also
Is Ekansio going to be up to fitness? Same with Dunn
bit disappointing to see her in or near? tears… youre right they arent the most physical. She had Burger and Watson on her last final and she put them on their backsides, they are both hardly slack defenders
Think we’ll find it’ll be
Grace, Tiana, Aliya and Maia
Maybe Ammeliann?
Grace crying? Didn’t see it but hells bells, if Anna can create that, wait until Aus/Jam/Eng play against us.
Aus esp will push every button and even those you didn’t realise you had. -
