Good build up. Wonder who will be in men team.

McLeod, I sincerely hope Poi gets a run at C in this series. I think her court play has improved this season.

Interesting, a mixed side. Adding another dimension to the series. Looking forward to it.

Poi is the best C in NZ. But Kersten and winders will be the C options IMO. And what a shambles that will be.

I just don’t see how there can be justification of Kersten selection based on current form, and Winders cannot clean up her game with dirty defence and is week on circle feeds and attack.
For me the C options are Earle, MRB or Poi. Heck, I’d even put Peterson in there before Winders or Kersten based off ANZ this year

I like Kersten’s consistency and versatility to play WD. Poi I feel is too small. She can get out muscled by bigger centres. I’d rather see Heffernan or Earle selected over Poi.

Article by Brendan Egan in stuff – Kate Heffernans height defence could help her in silver ferns centre battle. Heffernan got on court in the last NZ series but only lasted a quarter?
I don’t think she has the speed to carve up the court against other international centres, Liz Watson would leave her for dead as an example.

We have 5 WD better than Kersten. And as for Poi being to small, what rubbish. And no way to Tayla Earle, never been in the ferns. Was pretty average in the loss to magic.
Mystics v tactix today. Earle v Poi, Earle had it is with nweke, but if she not there again then things will be very different.

Grace was still in moon boot yesterday albeit walking without a crutch but as we know players do wear a moon boot between games and play on the injury if needed. IMO Earles game hasn’t been as dynamic this season and last season her great play was interspersed with games that were nothing to marvel at. She also seems to have dropped some of the great defensive play she used to show.

Sorry I dont know much about the men. Putting aside who people think missed out, it looks like strong competition. Aus style midcourt, tall defenders and slightly unpredictable shooting end.
