3/4 time: NZ 55-44
Nweke 41/45 (91%)
Wilson 14/17 (82%)Gerber 36/38 (95%)
Namana 3/4 (75%)Saunders comes on for the last Q. Crampton sits down with 21 assists. Souness has 19. That combo really gelling nicely. Nweke proving to be a good target.
Surely this proves the Ferns are much stronger than NZA
Ferns up 65-55 in the last quarter. This has been a good solid team performance from NZ. Bailey Mes and Kayla Johnson now on.
Oh poor Bailey, that was not the start of dreams. Rejected shot, bad pass and missed shot after that.
And off she goes 🙁- This reply was modified 1 year, 9 months ago by StatsNerd21.
SF look like they have their spine with Karaka looking more promising than Fitzpatrick. Bench is the worry particularly haven’t seen a decent replacement for GA…
Full time: The Mixed team won the last Q, but the Ferns come out on top 68-59. Think Noeline Taurua should be pretty happy. Now let’s see how they go in the final tomorrow.
Taurua has settled on her starting 7 it seems.
Nweke – I think we keep Mes as back-up GS for the pool games.
Wilson – who would’ve thought she’d be our at GA. Good on her. Te Paea can be back-up here.
Crampton – Saunders her back-up.
Souness – fantastic find
Heffernan – Johnson is good for.. 15 minutes?
I’d say Karaka at the moment with cameos from Fitzpatrick in either GD/GK

I was very impressed with Maia Wilson at GA. Great to see her run out a full game. I was one who thought she didn’t deserve her selection in the SFs. I am happy to eat my words and proven wrong.
Whitney Souness is amazing! She owned that position.

Replying to Nate from a few pages back…
Unless they’ve made a late change to the rules due to Covid (I don’t think so), the reserves only stay with the team until the Comm Games begin, then that’s it. And they can only come into the team in the leadup if there’s an injury. I suppose Covid could come into that too.
