It’s hard to read too much into this match, but I think Cardwell has been much more impressive at GS than Harten. Francis-Bayman and Guscoth have also been great. I’m not sure England has ever had such a deep 12.
T&T have been disappointing. Obviously it’s a huge challenge not having Wallace and McCollin, but there have been a lot of basic errors.
This T&T side would be so different with Sam Wallace. The defence end are winning back ball, but the attack are just not gelling. Cardwell is having a great game and is definitely showing why the Thunderbirds signed her.
IMHO Sophie Drakeford-Lewis has been quite impressive, I haven’t always rated her but I thought she provided solid options and good movement, especially in GA. Obviously this game isn’t a true reflection, but still.
T&T missing Wallace for sure. Such a shame đFULL TIME: ENG 74 v T&T 22

Diamonds line up exactly what Iâd expect⊠except for Moloney over Hadley?
AUSTRALIA:
GS Bueta
GA Wood
WA Watson
C Maloney
WD Brazill
GD Weston
GK BruceBARBADOS
GS Wharton
GA Holder
WA Browne
C Rock-Yaw
WD Bobb
GD Blackman
GK Azore-BruceThere must be a rule that people with the last name of Bruce play GK.
Moloney starting at C surprises me, but I guess Stacey wonât be looking to reveal all her cards too early either so could be strategic
Stacey’s always been a big fan of Moloney. She got a lot of court time during the Constellation Cup when Proud and Hadley weren’t even named in the 12s. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her in the starting 7 across the tournament.
Always so hard to gauge in these sort of games but Bueta looks immense.
Bueta is so much stronger at GS than GA in my opinion. All of the skill and athleticism without the turnovers. Completely dominant.

Very comfortable start from Australia, looking very slick and drilled. Bueta taking the majority of shots and at the moment, Barbados have no answers! #B2022Netball

That’s exactly what I’ve always thought al_ex. Always wanted to see Bueta at GS rather than GA.
