Commentators hitting the nail on the head, Wood needs to be taking more shots in these group stage games.

Moloney playing better than I expected, a few too many penalties but providing nice attacking play.

I’d be using the second half to throw all the bench players on, let them get the nerves out a bit. Hopefully SM does that.

Attacking half definitely not as dominant as the first half but hopefully they grow into the game.

@Morts there are some great WAs in the Superleague – but they’re still a bit raw, and we’ve had Pitman holding up a place in the national squad for a developing talent for the past few years. Malcolm and Clarke have both played there recently – I think as much for their defensive qualities as anything else, but as you saw today, SDL’s movement there is lethal and she feeds the circle well as well. There are several up and comers for the next cycle which I hope we’ll be seeing in WA – people like Scholes and Brie Grierson play beautifully, and also Amy Carter at Thunder. The principle seems to be that players need to have two positions, so we need some variety – perhaps even Rhea Dixon could be an option?

Only 16 goals this quarter for the Diamonds so far. Doesn’t sound bad but considering the 25/27 in the first half, it’s a little bit of a drop.

Def a weaker attacking lineup… not sure why all the high ball over the defence. Austin is playing behind her defender a lot too.

Female umpire isnt up to international standard imo.

back in 2018 Malawi were a top 6 team. Even now a full strength Malawi team which they havent had for a while is top 6 over Uganda imo.

Wood and Austin should really be the other way around. Austin was only ever a plug for the Giants at WA, Wood was has always been a great WA option since her days at the Swifts.

Where’s Paige Hadley? She’s been on the bench and the bike- hopefully just resting her for some Centre tomorrow and no injury niggles.

Koenen looks much better this quarter. Wood is far more confident feeding her.

                              Austin was great in WA
