The Diamonds built really well into that game. Koenen was much better than yesterday, really justified her selection today. I liked what Austin, Brazill and Moloney brought to their second positions as well. I’d still like to see Wood at WA, especially considering the injury cloud surrounding Hadley. Hopefully Paige can be back on full games by the end of the tournament, I think they’ll need her.

The Malawi team doesn’t look as fit or as well drilled as previously unfortunately. Mtukele in particular looks completely off the pace. Bridget Kumwenda also refuses to feed Mvula. There’s no reason a Kumwenda/Mvula can’t work, but it doesn’t seem like they’ve really tried to adjust to each other or build that combination. I’d bring Chimaliro on I think.
Chimaliro is just so much busier. Making england think and guess where the feed is. I didn’t dislike kumwenda as Ga per se but it’s just opened up now they’ve taken her off and you can see some really lovely passages
1/2 time: England 35-20
Mvula is such a strong player nowadays. I think she probably has overtaken Kumwenda, definitely in terms of strength in the air. She’ll be deadly for Pulse, I can’t wait to see Souness feeding her.
What a quarter for Malawi!! It’s great to see the gap closing in on the top 4.
Would love to see rolling subs in international netball. The injury time charade is silly.
Nice recovery from Malawi. Good to see them try a lot of different combinations. If they bring the level from the 2nd half I think they’ll win comfortably against Northern Ireland.
Guscoth and Cardwell have been standouts for England. I think they’ll play a huge part in their campaign.
The nonsense with the changes is even more farcical when you consider that English is not the first language of so many of the players at the tournament. Just so much unnecessary confusion and it was a shame that it meant Malawi had to lose possession. Rolling Subs should be introduced.
Full time: England 66-41
