Disappointing for Wales, Creak already called for held ball. From another perspective, nice to see an actual 3 second call rather than a shooter’s 3 seconds!

              1/4 time: 12-12

Time ran out before SA could put on a 13th goal. This is a real battle. So competitive. South African defence heavily penalised and out of play too often, gifting Wales several easy goals. What will happen now we’ve changed ends.

Based on performances at the Comm Games, who do we think could get picked up to play in the VNSL? Interesting times ahead, would love to hear people’s thoughts…….

                  1/2 time: SA 31-21

                  van der BERG 13/17
                  VENTER 18/18

                  CREAK 9/13
                  ROWE 12/15

South Africa gradually got on top in that Q, as more mistakes crept into the Welsh play. South Africa still heavily penalised, but an improvement on the first Q.

Surely van der Berg deserves a contract somewhere.

Ine-Mari Venter very strong in the circle for South Africa. She’s proving to be a very reliable target, and well supported by van der Berg. SA 46-29

                        Full time: South Africa 69-51

That was an entertaining game. The South Africans deserved their win and dominated the middle two quarters, but Wales was more than competitive in the first and last, and showed what they were capable of.

At 1/4 time, it’s 11-5 to Uganda. Wow, this is scrappy. Both sides struggling when in possession. Let’s see if the attacking play picks up in the 2nd Q.

Ugandans playing with more confidence in the second Q and finding Cholhok with regularity. Uga 21-8

                                  1/2 time: Uganda 28-11

That Q was 17-6 in Uganda’s favour. Just nothing going right at the moment for NI. A heavy penalty count against them is making it very difficult to compete. 45 penalties in just one half of netball.
