I wasn’t able to watch the game last night but just caught the 20 min highlights on SkyGo.
All props to Jamaica but the Ferns were atrocious. And, after saying she’s played her best netball for the Ferns in years, the footage of TPSR had her throwing the ball away four times. What the heck.
The fact Mes didn’t get on, even just to see if she would be an option for today’s game against England is terrible.
Wow. You’d expect more from people who have MBE and CBE next to their name.
Cant believe I’m saying this: but Mes needs to start at GA to do a Mystics- I.e biff the ball to Nweke. She’s Literally the only one that looks in a throws the ball to her. Even if her shooting is atrocious- her movement around the court is also needed. No need to shoot when you can have Grace do all that 😂
Oh Geva, watch this influence the way it’s umpired tonight 🙄 England should be too good though. There desperately missing Serena in that mid court.

Wewood and Netfan
Coulda Woulda Shoulda
That time has passed now and we’ll never know
Am sincerely hoping she doesn’t play against England
What would the point be?
Disillusioned? Very much so.
Would the game have been different against Jamaica had the players who didn’t get picked were? Probably not.
Jamaica was just too good.
Ppls forget, Meels made herself unavailable, Tiana and Poi? Who knows.Netfan, just for the record
Noel’s did not want a Mystics type play with Grace/Bayes, God knows why. Once you’re loosing big time, anything worth a go. :unsure:In response to the Olympics question its likely Team GB would be the England squad. This is what we do for Curling in the Winter Olympics (It’s the Scotland team) and as it would be a new sport in the Olympics and funding in Team GB is ruthlessly results based then I’d expect it to be the England team in a Team GB dress.
Minkie, Ekenasio was available, she trialed but was not selected and took her non selection hard.
Funny she didn’t take it hard at all because knew she wasn’t ready, far from it
Completely agree with all your thoughts @enzolas
Raz Quashie seemed to be the obvious next in line for Mentor for a while with some good tests in the smaller comps, but we haven’t seen her in a while with covid and injuries so may depend how she comes back from rehab. Halimat Adio from London Pulse is also in the Roses programme I think and will have the existing combination with Fadoju who should be a big star
Despite all the chat about the big games experience of the England team I don’t think they’re in a hugely dissimilar position to NZ ATM – losing Guthrie and Cobden so last minute was like losing Langman and Burger for us in midcourt importance (and on much shorter notice). Difference being we don’t have loads of guaranteed big names coming back for NWC except Cobden hopefully . I think I’ve heard of Beth having the odd outing in C at Lightning too, wonder if that’s something they look to develop more as an option for NWC. C/WA options though…..hmm
…and Eboni Usoro Brown just announced on insta she will be retiring from all netball after today’s game!
ANALYSIS: Coach Dame Noeline Taurua said there was 'a gulf in individuals' as New Zealand were relegated to the bronze medal match. https://t.co/PTq9yn0xo5
