Okay, this will be a bit of fun. Your challenge is to try to predict the finishing order of all 12 teams. Just post your predictions here and let’s see who gets closest.

Now, I’ll show you how you do it. Firstly, you have to try to predict the finishing order in each group. Here are the two groups in alphabetical order…

    Group A
    Australia
    Barbados
    Jamaica
    Scotland
    South Africa
    Wales

    Group B
    England
    Malawi
    New Zealand
    Northern Ireland
    Trinidad & Tobago
    Uganda

Now, once you’ve worked out an order for each group, look at positions 3-6. These teams play each other to decide finishing positions. In other words, the 3rd team in Group A plays the 3rd team in Group B in the playoffs. The winner finishes 5th and the loser finishes 6th. It’s exactly the same with the teams who finished 4th, 5th & 6th in their groups. They play each other to see who finishes 7th/8th, 9th/10th, and 11th/12th.

Now we come to the top 4; the teams you’ve picked to come 1st & 2nd in each group. This is a bit more tricky. Firstly, the teams crossover in semi-finals. So, team 1 in Group A plays team 2 in Group B, and team 2 in group A plays team 1 in group B. The two semi-final winners then meet in the gold medal game, and the two losers meet in the bronze medal game. So, after picking the winners of all these games, you should have a top 4 to add to positions 5-12 that you’ve already got, and you now have a predicted order of all 12 teams.

So, have a go. Just post your predicted order of 12 teams here and we’ll see how close people get. :good:

    Gold: Australia
Silver: New Zealand (dark horses, I think they’ll surprise many)
Bronze: England ( Have the most pressure to perform)

    4th: Jamaica

5th: South Africa w against Malawi (both third in pool play)
    6th: Malawi
    7th: Uganda W against Scotland
8th: Scotland (I expect Scot to improve under the helm of Tamsin and Sara)
    9th: Wales W against N Ireland
    10th: Northern Ireland

    11th: Trinidad and Tabago
    12th: Barbados

.. Expecting improvements from the northern teams.
Top 4 is easily interchangeable. Many are predicting similar results to the Gold Coast. I have just have a hunch NZ are gonna stun a few teams. Even though the English bolster the strongest team, Australia have the momentum on all for teams at this stage.

    1 New Zealand
    2 Aust
    3 England
    4 Jamaica
    5 Malawi
    6 South Africa
    7 Wales
    8 Scotland
    9 Uganda
    10 Northern Ireland
    11 T & T
    12 Barbados

(7-12 I basically just randomly threw them out there)

Unlike the 2019 WC, England should meet up with Aus at least once. Whether that be in the semi or GF. There is a slight chance they miss each altogether, but I doubt it.

    1. Australia (Bueta, Wood, Watson, Hadley, Bruce, Klau and Weston all played in the WNC 2019 final and will be too experienced to let that happen again)
    2. Jamaica (that backline will win back enough ball to supplement the ‘less robust’ attacking mid court. Fowler will bring confidence from SSN and beckford has more experience to draw on).
    3. New Zealand (will put up an good fight, but think they will peak at World Cup next year)
    4. England (massive call, but to me they are weaker than 2019 with Guthrie and Cobden out, and Mentor’s back niggles. They are still all class no doubt, but i feel like the other 3 top nations have more x factor)
    5. Malawi
    6. SA – weaker than 2018/2019 without Karla
    7. Scotland –
    8. Uganda
    9. Wales
    10. Barbados
    11. NI
    12. Trinidad & Tobago

I do think Australia will finally get back to the Gold, but this Top 4 is so hard to predict. New Zealand and Jamaica are still so unpredictable, I could easily see both in the Gold Medal match. I really hope Malawi can find a way to use both Kumwenda and Mvula, if so they could really be dangerous considering how consistent Vinkhumbo is at the back.

Had Rob wright been promoted to head coach? I’m seeing him all over socials, and not their old coach.
