Is Medhurst going to have a blinder for Firebirds or Lightning next year and get selected for the WC?

Why SM has persisted with Wood and Koenen when they aren’t even effective at SSN level is beyond me. And on top of that, she is playing them in front of their old coach.

Let’s hope Wallam delivers against England.

So diamonds need to win the last 2 games by no less than a combined 13 goals??

At 184cm, hardly a challenge to defend.

Strange substitutions by Marinkovich. I would have taken off Koenan, she seemed to be missing shots and turning the ball over. Also Bruce is better at Gk.
Toeava looked good again. Glad for her. I remember several commenters on here used to criticise her previous performances when she didn’t even get much court time. I guess she’s silenced those critics. The games in Australia could go either way. I’ve lost track of who’s playing in the squads.

For all that the Ferns won the two games one of their work ons needs to be presenting much better to the centre pass. Given the speed of held ball calls 2-3 times tonight I am surprised there weren’t several blown against them. Australia defence was tight!
Ekes shooting stats dropped as she tired – it was definitely the best decision not to have her in the CG squad. She’s now fit but wasn’t able to reach the standards back then and its no good having a player who can’t fully contribute.
Johnson has impressed me, both as injury replacement last game and tonight. I never thought I’d say that.
Now it’s Kimmy, Maddy and Elle’s turn to show us what they can do.

@Kwkiwi – Mila, Peta and Sulu drop out of the Ferns for the Australia leg. Kimiora Poi, Maddy Gordon and Elle Temu come in.

Garbin has a strong hold under the ring.

Worth a shot (tee hee)…..Koenen isn’t cutting it for the whole game.

Shame Mila didn’t get any court time at all, this would have been the perfect time to give her a go especially when Souness and Toeava were tiring in game 1.

                              Yes @mcleod

Wouldve been a bigger margin if little miss whistle happy didn’t gift Aussie a few turnovers.

A lot of pressure on Wallam to be the saviour when she debuts next series, as the current Aussie shooters won’t win gold.

Yes toeava is good with Grace at GS. But in the 1st half she had a lot of not much, same with Souness. Heffernan at C was the game changer
