Usually a Bruce fan but I’m already calling for Klau to come on- nothing but contacts and silly choices (eg putting her arms up without stepping backwards) so far.
Half way through the first quarter and it’s clear the Aussie defence isn’t going to get away with nearly as much as they did last game. Let’s see if they can still be disruptive and effective and stay in play
Very good point JR… really thought she would’ve learned from that, it doesn’t take years to learn to get your distance before arms!
Weston on a caution and also Souness. Umpires out for blood tonight!!
Weston with a warning in Q1 and Souness with a caution.
1/4 time NZ 16 – 13
Cautions for both Weston and Souness1/4 time: NZ 16-13
Garbin 6/6 (100%)
Wood 7/7 (100%)Nweke 13/14 (93%)
Ekenasio 3/3 (100%)The Silver Ferns led by 7 at one stage and threatened to blow the game apart as they did in game 1. But a few late errors allowed the Diamonds to narrow the gap.
Side note- why is Matt Russell in commentary? Surely Madi Browne or literally anybody else is available…
Maryann, Weston’s was definitely a warning. I was wondering where the caution was.
I don’t know if I heard Souness’s caution correctly.
Would someone give the commentator a calculator!
No JR – it was a caution with the added info that next time it would be a warning.
The hand signal was a caution – not the crossed arms over head which is a warning.Cox says she likes the whistle and the umpire’s control….Wednesday she liked the umpires letting things ..
Thanks for the clarification netballmum
