I hope this puts to rest why Poi has been on the outside of ferns selections
The fact that the ferns got within 4 with Poi at WA, when they were down by 7 when she came on shows something. Souness was shocking, but hey keep her own the whole game 20 penalties and a warning
It was not because of Poi that NZ got to within 4. A few sprayed balls over the baseline in the Aussie attack got them there. Haha.
Poi’s feeding was not good. I don’t think there’s much to argue there? She also failed to find space. Gordon had a shocker q3 and gave away so much ball ( which could have been the decider on the match result)
Thank god we won those tests back home. Aside from that brain explosion of a third quarter- NZ should have won that game. As a shame. But it’s nice to see them so competitive against the aussies for once. I’ll take a drawn series over our history in the con cup.

This was from before game 4. Some interesting points made…
Would Toeava have enabled to win the game? Don’t get me wrong I’m a huge DNT fan but she won’t admit she’s wrong in not taking her… Im sure she avoided the question about taking Mes to com. Games too
The teams for each leg were already pre-chosen before the series. She wasn’t going to change that and make someone miss out.

Maybe I’m just mesmerized by DNT but I honestly think if she cared more about winning than trialing players NZ would’ve taken the cup back home with them. I feel like they only lost because her priority is WC.
Every time they lose I feel like it’s purely because she doesn’t want to show her strongest hand and she’s also ensuring she sees every combination that she feels she needs to before picking the best team for the major tournaments. Some good point enzolas- however I wonder why didn’t she give Mila a run in NZ? One game definitely showcased the amazing Toeava-Nweke connection and it would’ve been really nice to give Mila a run, especially as she almost cracked the CWG team.
