It’s goal%% always has been, this a netball not Rugby
DNT has played an absolute blinder with Nweke.
@thunder123 DNT always makes a habit of only announcing the team to the press and the players about a hour before… she explained years ago why she does this, i think it was to do with the nerves it puts on some players
To really know if its goal % we need someone with access to the stats from the two times NZ and Australia have ended the series 2-2. Both times this has happened Australia has taken the trophy, but they also held the trophy coming in to the series.
@RMB IMO Kersten and Winders just don’t have the flair, yes they are good but there is nothing outstanding saying ‘here I am and this is what I can be’. In addition Winders mouth/attitude has gotten the better of her over the last couple of ANZ seasons. Of course this might improve when she changes teams and doesn’t have captain on her shoulders as well.Edit to above which I can’t do using edit – Wikipedia shows Australia won on aggregate so we need someone with access to the rules to see if there has been a rule change since 2019. The fact that we have heard NZ only needs to win twice to take it may well be an overheard conversation (that was totally wrong) which the media has picked up on. They’ve definitely not always right.
I thought the Aussies did ok?!
They were without Bueta, Hadley, Brazill and Weston and a player on debut with no real NZ style experience.
The success of Moloney and Watson was built around Bueta being an option in the circle, and if watch the CWG final again, Moloney did very few feeds. She always looked for Watson.
I would have liked to see RBD on last night, she has a better read of the play.
Shooting accuracy is a problem, Dwyer might be needed. Australia need to blood Wallam asap and try and build the attack around her.
I know Weston is in the squad for the games against England, but was their any reason given for her not being in the CC squad?
It seems like it’s a bit of player management plus balancing strengths across both series.
Surprisingly, Australia hasn’t played NZ very much recently and it is important to expose as many players as possible to that style.
@Nate be interesting with the world cup defense, the ideal lineup would be Watson, Burger, Jury and Karaka… where does that leave Fitzpatrick and the new comer Temu? I know Sulu has said she wont be back after the WC… Yvette Willering bought up a good point Sulu is good at forcing errors on the opposition but not so much at gaining intercepts and rebounds
re Stoj’s comment about the Diamonds defence having no answers ….I think the Bruce-Aryang combo did better, which is understandable given they train with Fowler whose game style is similar to Nweke’s.
Ian was there a stats page to be able to compare?
Undeniable Toeava had a great game last night. I would be interested to see Cramptons C pass receives in comparison.
