Keen to hear other peoples’ thoughts on this, is this constant cycle of only being able to sign players to one or two-year deals (over the past few years) a bit limiting? I personally like the short duration of the deals because it means we can expect movement and new recruits which makes things exciting and can also help prevent a really long period of bad success for a club. But, I think about other professional sports and how long some of the contracts are (but obviously they have other avenues to delist, waive, or trade players, a level which we haven’t reached yet in the sport) and wonder if maybe short-term deals are getting a bit old. I think it’s okay for now, especially with the sport still needing to grow quite a bit commercially, but in the long-term future of SSN, which I would hope can expand to 10-12 teams (LONG LONG TERM), I feel like this is something that should change?
In NZ, multi-year deals aren’t a thing. They only seem to do one year deals.
The West Australian newspaper today confirmed Fowler will sign a new two year deal.
Actually it uses the words “set to sign” but it was released on Twitter last night too 🙂Vixens posting a Thankyou to Kaylia Stanton suggests she is a confirmed departure.

Ian, I don’t know if it’s just me but can’t see your posts. Just a blank rectangle
@Netballcrazy – I can see them, they are images. Top one is announcing when the signing period is. Bottom one is from Giants, black images of netballers on the orange background headed 2022 Giants Netball Squad 2022. No names.
Yeah, sorry, made a mistake with that last one. It was supposed to be this tweet from Giants…
All will be revealed soon.. ?#StandUnited pic.twitter.com/mqoIZZj2xI
