Sophie Dwyer seals it with a super shot of her own. Full time: Giants 55-48
Giants are off to Melbourne to play the Vixens for a spot in the grand final!
Hay a very well deserved MVP. She wasn’t flashy, but she was in everything.
Sorry but that was such an exciting game until the last minute of the third quarter when Magpies were up by 2, then Dwyer and Harten scored three super shots to take a 4 goal lead at 3QT.
The super shot really does ruin our awesome sport. Save that stuff for Fast5.
Maddie Hay a well-deserved MVP. 18 assists, 45 feeds, 4 gains and ZERO turnovers. Magpies are distraught. They’ve shown so much promise this season. Giants were just a bit too strong when it counted today.
Super shot is a joke, the majority of Australia netball fans hate it, maybe netball Australia should take notice of people for a change.
I don’t like the super shot, but I was watching a game on TV with non netball fans last week and all they really cared about was whether a goal was going to count as 1 or 2. So I can see what Netball Australia are trying to do by introducing it.
Didn’t the recent anonymous poll from players say they wanted it gone too? And that umpiring had been below standard this year but hey we know NA wont pay any attention to that.
Sadly, I agree about the umpiring this year. And I have noticed the poorer performances have come from the more experienced umpires too.
WHAT A PASS!

I have a horrible feeling the Grand Final will be decided by stoopid shots. While the flurry of shots by Vixens didn’t change the outcome, they very well could have if the first quarter hadn’t been such a blow out to the Fever. Ditto the Giants-Magpies game; Giants 6 stoopid shots didn’t change the outcome but it sure as hell changed the momentum.
I am happy for them to take out the Super shot. But at the same time, it does bring excitement to the game.
For Giants, if they’re heading into the last qtr trailing by 6-8 points. You know there’s a huge possibility they could turn that around, and win.
It does force teams (who don’t use the SS), to try and get themselves a healthy lead heading into the 4th qtr. Which is what Fever did to Vixens. -
