Sasha Glasgow sinks one from distance. Now Austin replies with one of her own. Fever 13-11
Tremendous work from Kumwenda to keep the ball in play and Austin scores. Fever 14-13
Fever really should win this.
What does McKinnis do? All three in the bench could come on because the Vixens GS, GK and C are being beaten (Mannix needs more help though); so what does McKinnis do?
1/4 time: Fever 18-14
Fowler 12/13
Glasgow 4/5Kumwenda 6/6
Austin 7/9Great first Q. Fever with the advantage most of the way. Vixens looking a bit stagnant in attack. Fever defence doing a good job of confusing them and forcing errors. Great start from Glasgow
Wow, spectacular collision and Vixens come up with the ball. Teams exchanging turnovers now. Fever 22-20
Sasha Glasgow is having some sort of game out there. On fire. Now another change of possession against Vixens and just like that, Fever leads 26-21
Rahni Samason enters the game for Mwai Kumwenda at GS. Fever 27-23.
Glasgow collides with the post (with a little help from Jo Weston). But she’s fine to continue. Fever leads 29-25 with 4 minutes left in the quarter.
Vixens need to make Glasgow shoot. She will most likely shoot the game out for Fever but they need to try something different.
Vixens probably won’t have the guts to take Weston off but they should consider it. Easily the most penalised on court.
Samason sinks her first super shot. Now, Austin with another. Fever 34-29
Vixens are way too reliant on Watson. Watson has 21 feeds and Moloney 9. Then Fever have ATN, Glasgow and Simmons all in double digits. Much harder to shut down.
1/2 time: Fever 35-29
Fowler 26/27
Glasgow 6/9Samason 3/4
Austin 11/14
Kumwenda 12/12This is being played at a cracking pace. Fever appears to just have the edge at this stage, on top in the crucial gains and turnover stats. But Vixens certainly not out of it.
As an aside, it’s good experience for Austin and Aryang to be playing in a game of this intensity going into the CWG.
