Good positive start to the 2nd Q from Giants with the first 3 goals in 2 minutes and Simone McKinnis wants a timeout already. Vixens 15-10

Sophie Dwyer shoots a beautiful goal from the super shot zone, but only gets one for it. Now unfortunately she throws one away and Samason converts. Vixens up 19-13

It’s Samason super shot time. And they’re in front this week. Harten replies with one of her own. Vixens 24-18

It’s getting tense. Harten lands her fourth super shot and narrows the gap to 2!

Not sure on Cath’s claim that Vixens haven’t had to be in chase mode this season. I can think of several very close games they’ve won!

A huge weight on Samason’s shoulders with the super shot, bit of a worry.

Now Dwyer gets in on the act. Samason misses and Harten puts the Giants in front. It’s just raining Giants super shots.

Super shot yet again undoing a teams hard work. Vixens were up by 8, then 3 minutes later Giants lead by 3 after scoring 6 super shots.

What are Vixens defence doing? Harten is RECEIVING that ball, by just standing in the super shot zone 🤷‍♂️
Down the other end Vixen shooters are being so tightly marked, they can barely get the ball in the super shot area.

                      1/2 time: Giants 28-26

                      Kumwenda 16/17
                      Samason 9/13

                      Harten 12/14
                      Dwyer 9/11

Well, that was the perfect example of just what the super shot can do. In just over 4 minutes, Giants went from 8 behind to 2 in front as they went on a 12-2 run to turn this game on its head.

The super shots are pretty to watch (I love a long bomb) but it sucks when it can change a scoreline so drastically

The Vixens defence of the super shot as it has been all season is utterly dreadful. They don’t even try and clog up that space or mark their player in that area. It’s as if they are completely clueless that it is super shot time. Brandley on the other hand defends it so very well. How they haven’t addressed this all season when it has burnt them on many occasions is bizarre.

Vixens are way too hesitant to release the ball.

I don’t think it’s just the super shots that changed it for Giants. Their tight defence has been impressive. They totally outplayed Vixens in that qtr.

The super shot is a embarrassment to the game, it’s far to close to the goal, a mid range shot if that, should not completely alter the game,
Be interesting to see the viewership numbers, seeing as it’s the same time as st Kilda v Swans

A loose pass and Watson can’t hold on. Giants capitalise and lead 34-31

Wow, that was chaos. But in the end, a Parmy possession gain results in a Giants goal. And now another. They lead by 5 now.
