Oh I totally forgot that Thunderbirds lost their principal partner in Priceline. Priceline seems to have moved to women’s soccer. The stadium has now reverted to Netball SA STADIUM.

Wilson and Sterling really stepped up in that last quarter. The Sterling/Garrett/Wilson backline is a lovely conundrum to have because they all work so well together. Petty was impressive and as someone who has not always been her biggest fan I think she did very well in WD. I’m glad obst change-up in the middle was Williams and not Petty to C because I think that’s the right call moving forward.

Sinclair must be the magpies GA if they want to have success. Garbin is great but she’s a GS and even though it’s round 1 I think this shows her move to the magpies was a strange one.

Crazy to me that collingwood dropped Bragg for Lind.
Love that tbirds seamlessly played all their ten, they have great depth that will be invaluable this season

Solid win for the Thunderbirds but there are definitely some things to work on. Still too many errors. Encouraging signs for the Pies, seeing as they were without Brazill. Garbin had a tough day and she will hopefully be better for the experience.

Giants 12-11. What a tight tussle. Some poor choices being made by both sides under pressure at the moment. Great atmosphere!

                    1/4 time: Swifts 14-12

                    Wallace 10/11
                    Housby 3/5

                    Harten 6/8
                    Dwyer 6/8

4 missed super shots before Sam Wallace showed them how it’s done and gave Swifts a lead of 2. So good to see the crowd getting involved. Terrific atmosphere at this NSW derby.

Giants have come out firing in the 2nd Q! 8-3 up and they lead 20-17. The Giants midcourt of Hay, Price and Parmenter are on top.

                          1/2 time: Giants 32-29

                          Wallace 19/22
                          Housby 7/10

                          Harten 11/15
                          Dwyer 18/20

Dwyer nails a super shot after time is up to give Giants a 3 goal buffer. They won that Q 20-15. The intensity & quality in this game seems to be a step up from the earlier one.

                              3/4 time: Giants 45-44

                              Wallace 31/35
                              Housby 9/13

                              Harten 18/25
                              Dwyer 24/28

What an intense battle. Giants have been on top for the majority, but Sam Wallace with a vital super shot just before 3/4 time to narrow the gap. Anyone’s game now.

The really surprising thing about this game are the turnovers. Swifts, normally so tidy have given up 18 turnovers to just 11 for the Giants. If they can cut out the errors in the last Q, the champs could possibly finish the stronger.
