Moloney at WD, Mundy at C and Rahni on….Mannix wasn’t the problem….stopping the feed into Wallam is the problem.
Great work by Lewis to draw that contact penalty. Looks to have improved her footwork this year.
1/2 time: Vixens 32-30
Wallam 22/23
Bueta 6/8Kumwenda 22/24
Samason 1/1Great half. Vixens finished strongly to take the lead. The Moloney/Watson duo back together and working well.
Lewis is a great addition to Vixens. But I’d still take Eddy off to try someone else to stop that feed going in so easily from Dunkley.
I also think Moloney’s chances of being in the Diamonds over JLP would be strengthened if she had recent good form in a second position.

Penalties are 43 to 29!
Firebirds had 73% possession in the first half?! Surely that can’t be right?!? (That stat was from fox).
Firebirds 43 penalties to 29. Kim Jenner sitting on 16 penalties at half time, and seemingly making no attempt to adjust.
The second quarter was better from Eddy. I think she only gave away one penalty compared to 5 in the first quarter. That built pressure and they kept Firebirds to 12. Eddy rewarded Simone’s faith in that quarter but she needs to keep it up. With her height her hands over pressure is great but only works when she is in play. Would Mundy be tight enough in defence on Rav?
That 73% possession stat is on the Champion Data site. They’ve been having a bit of trouble in the first half, so I would think that’s an error.
Commentators talking about Watson and Austin both liking the centre channel…..maybe that’s contributing to Austin being more tentative than we saw her in Giants pre injury.
So without those awful Super shots….Vixens 31 Firebirds 28.
Austin looks nervous on the shot to me. Her court play was okay. Couple of poor passes but she is new to the team and didn’t have a full preseason on court so understandable. Overall took some pressure off Liz from having to take every second pass. Now with Rahni Liz will do more through court but Rahni is much more confident to post.
