Swifts are off to a fast start. Lightning need to watch out here. Already 5 turnovers against them. It’s looking dangerous for them already! Swifts 9-3
1/4 time: Swifts 14-12
Koenen 8/9
Wood 4/7Housby 11/11
Singleton 3/4It was a horror start for Lightning. After 8 minutes, they were down 10-3. But they fought their way back into the quarter through their defence, which came up with some crucial gains.
Once again, Lightning with just 3 goals in the first half of this quarter. They can’t keep giving their opponents a start like this.
‘You should have a smiley face’….how gorgeous is Akle.
There are so many changes of possession in this game. Swifts lead it by 5 and have looked the more composed, but Lightning has shown enough to suggest they can still come back from here. They need to start the quarters way better though.
1/2 time: Swifts 29-24
Wood 6/9
Koenen 18/22Housby 25/27
Singleton 3/6Housby is just dominating that circle, doing everything she can to lift Swifts over the line here. Well supported by Proud and Hadley. Lightning once again starting slowly but fighting back well.
On Instagram it says Jess Anstiss is out with injury and Pitman is in. Zoe Cransberg is out too with injury
For Lightning, Reilley Batcheldor on, Koenen to GA, Wood to WA.
For Swifts, Fawns on for Singleton.
Swifts 33-27.
I am very excited about the future Diamonds shooting end with Fawns, Batcheldor, Dwyer, Samason, Lucy Austin and Letherbarrow running around.
Much better start to this Q from Lightning and they’re challenging hard. Swifts up 37-35
This game has come alive. Lightning hits the front!
3/4 time: Lightning 43-42
Batcheldor 5/6
Koenen 31/37Housby 32/35
Singleton 7/10What a play from Cassidy! And here we see the difference when Lightning made a good start. They won that Q 19-13. The introduction of Reilley Batcheldor has turned the game.
