Firebirds already being heavily penalised (18-7) after 11 minutes. Lightning leads 13-11
1/4 time: Lightning 19-15
Wallam 12/12
Bueta 2/4Koenen 10/12
Wood 7/8Firebirds started well, but lost their way halfway through the quarter. Very good performance so far from Lightning especially remembering that Firebirds beat them by 28 goals the first time round!
gosh 22 penalties to the F’Birds in the first quarter.
I cannot believe how average Rav has been the last few weeks. Different player to what we saw early in the season. Stacey M made the right choice with Diamonds selection
Lightning has stretched their lead to 8 in the 2nd Q. Bueta not having a happy game. 4 turnovers already in Firebirds’ 11 turnovers so far. By comparison, Lightning only has 6.
1/2 time: Lightning 36-28
Wallam 20/21
Bueta 6/9Koenen 20/24
Wood 12/17Lightning just looks the more calm and composed team. Watching this game, you couldn’t believe the score from the round 2 match. Currently, the turnovers are 13-9 against Firebirds.
Lightning in total control over a very disappointing Firebirds team. 47-33
Steph Wood down. That looked bad at first glance, but she hobbled off. Hope it’s not too serious
3/4 time: Lightning 54-45
Stower 5/9
Bueta 13/17Koenen 32/37
Batcheldor 0/0Lightning now has as many goals as they scored in the entire match when these teams met in round 2. It looks as if Steph Wood isn’t too bad which is great news.
This is incredibly disappointing from a team that is running 5th and trying to stay in the finals hunt. But take nothing away from Lightning. They’ve been very impressive. They lead by 17 now!
