Moloney is having a great game. I think she should drop to WD. Miller is far too quick for Eddy.
I hope Samason is back soon.
1/2 time: Vixens 32-29
Kumwenda 25/31
Austin 7/10Batcheldor 5/8
Koenen 11/115 super shots have helped Lightning stay in touch in this match. Vixens have threatened to run away with the match on a couple of occasions, but Lightning is hanging in there.
Lightning continues to hang in there. Just down by 4 now.
Vixens have changed up their midcourt now with Mundy coming on and Eddy going off. Laura Scherian has had an unhappy game with 8 turnovers so far. Liz Watson also has 5.
I wish Watson would stop barging. She’s better than that. 5 GPTs and 7 penalties.
3/4 time: Vixens 49-43
Kumwenda 35/41
Austin 13/18Wood 10/12
Koenen 19/19Vixens have appeared to be in control for most of this game, but Lightning won’t go away and if they’re close enough with 5 minutes left, they’re still a chance.
Just like that, the lead is back to just 2. And now another turnover against Vixens. Now the gap is one and unsurprisingly, Simone McKinnis calls a timeout.
By the way, not sure if it means anything, but the team going to Lightning’s end has won each quarter so far.
Bringing Mundy on is fine but why do they insist on moving the best WA in the world to C!!
Lead only 1 with 4 mins gone in the last gone.
Yes I noticed that Ian.
That’s why cat is off lap and I am standing up jiggling up and down.
Steph Wood trying for another super shot, misses, and that is enough for Vixens to take this out.
Vixens win 64-60. In fairness, they appeared to be in control for the majority of the match, but Lightning fought very hard and with the help of the super shot, they kept the game close
Full time: Vixens 64-60
Kumwenda 43/51 (84%)
Austin 20/26 (77%)
TOTAL 63/77 (82%)Koenen 29/29 (100%)
Wood 13/16 (81%)
Batcheldor 10/14 (71%)
TOTAL 52/59 (88%)Super shots:
VIX 1/2
LIG 8/12Assists: Watson 26
Gains: Watson, Mannix, Dehaney 7MVP: Emily Mannix
Nice to see Mannix rewarded with POTM. Probably her best game in some time and certainly better than last time against Lightning when Koenen had her measure. Hopefully hitting her form for finals. Now Vixens just need Rahni back.
Dwan needs to stand up today as with Horjus out she’s really the only GA option. I know Potgieter’s played there a couple of times for South Africa but I highly doubt she’s trained there. Of course Dwan did play a full game there last week with Austin too but there’s no backup this time.
This should be a great game -
