Some crazy turnovers all of a sudden. Firebirds have been given several opportunities and thrown them away. swifts looking to seal it. Up by 5!

Firebirds bow out. They will be bitterly disappointed with how their season unfolded. They had their chances today, but squandered too many opportunities.
Swifts were just more composed when it mattered.
What a match! Klau got 3 intercepts in a row towards the end and that single handedly kept the swifts in front.
So now if vixens win by more than 2, the swifts are in??
Apparently if Magpies lose by more than two, Swifts will make the 4th?
They should have backed Wallam and kept her on. That’s a lot of pressure to put on Stower. Benching the whole game, to be brought on for the final 2/3 minutes is a MASSIVE ask.
Super interested to see what Firebirds do next season if Romelda comes back. Similarly when Sam Wallace comes back, who will Swifts sign out of Singleton and Fawns?
EDIT: I take too long to type
Can someone please give the commentators (Hollis included) a maths lesson! It’s not a case of simply winning by a number (4 as they kept repeating) the wining margin required depends on the total score – it’s about PERCENTAGE dimwits :negative:
I know a long long time ago Ian explained this about a similar situation and worked out for a number of scenarios what the score difference had to be. But I can’t be bothered here.
Basically, If the Vixens wallop the Magpies tomorrow the Swifts could still make it to 4th position.

To be fair, I think they are just repeating numbers that’s getting sent through to them.
Here are some scorelines with Vixens winning, that would see Magpies make the #SSN2022 finals.
Vixens 45 – Magpies 42-44
Vixens 50 – Magpies 47-49
Vixens 55 – Magpies 52-54
Vixens 60 – Magpies 57-59
Vixens 65 – Magpies 62-64
Vixens 70 – Magpies 66-69
Vixens 75 – Magpies 71-74I’m sorry. I had the volume down. Did Cath Cox actually say that Swifts had missed out already???
I think they’ve accidentally assumed that because Swifts are now in 5th, Magpies can’t fall out of top 4.
Yeah, they must have thought that Swifts had to go above Magpies today. They didn’t have to.
Really irritates me that the Super Netball Instagram has Swifts making finals if Magpies lose by 2 or more. That’s just poor maths. Magpies can lose by 3 and still make finals, they can lose by 4 and make finals if they score 65+ goals
