Housby draining super shots. With Rahni off court the score line will close.
Not liking the Vixens attack with Mundy and Austin. No options to the ball.
Very telling quarter for Vixens. Only scored 10 so far. Not good enough.
3/4 time: Vixens 43-32
Fawns 7/9
Housby 18/25Kumwenda 35/37
Austin 2/3Helen Housby doing her best to try to get Swifts back in this with a couple of super shots, but it’s Vixens with a comfortable lead as we head to the last Q! Emily Mannix has 9 gains!!!
Samason back on for Austin. Moloney stays off surprisingly.
Another turnover in attack from Eddy. How is she still on? And now another held ball to Eddy when she had both Samason and Mundy as options!!!!!
A 4th held ball for Eddy! I know Mundy is not a through court option but 4 held balls. Bring Moloney back.
And Moloney is back. At C.
Mundy has a lot of of development to do but at least put Moloney at WD to help her out.
Swifts in a big come back here. Vixens changes have taken all momentum from them.
Think I’ll back Swifts for the win.
Lead now back to 8 and now Swifts pick up another gain. Now Fawns sinks one from distance and the lead is 7 with Swifts’ centre to come. Not surprisingly Simone McKinnis calls a timeout. Vixens 45-38 with 9 minutes left
I always thought Mundy was more a WA.
I would have Watson at C, and Mundy WA.Swifts have this. Vixens only have one option in attack. Inevitably it’s always Watson. Moloney has struggled since her break. Clearly not used to coming on and off.
Mundy actually played a lot of WD at a junior. Then C. Then WA. Just doesn’t have the speed and work rate for C at the moment.
Great performance by Swifts. Really impressive. So much guts. Contract for Fawns please.
As for Vixens they have a lot of work to do if they want to play finals. Samason is the GA and needs to stay on. A Rahni super shot was pushed the score back out. If they want Mundy on then Moloney needs to be WD otherwise they have zero drive through court. Watson will be triple teamed and they still look to her… Can Lewis play WD? She did okay a quarter against TBirds in preseason. Worth a go.
Klau was enormous.
Watson should be MVP.
Fawns was great to watch.
Simone put Moloney at WD.
And that’s it. Rahni Samason calmly sinks a super shot to put it beyond doubt, before Fawns finishes a memorable debut with a super shot of her own. Final score Vixens 53-48. The visitors looked in control for most of the match, but Swifts gave it everything.
