1/4 time: Fever 19-9
Nelson 5/6
Garbin 4/7Fowler 15/17
Glasgow 3/4It’s all falling apart in the attack end for Magpies sadly. After they had an early lead, it’s been all Fever since. Attacking turnovers killing them.
Koenan figured out by defenders, Garbin not playing good enough. There’s a lot of questions marks in the attack end as we head to CWG. But I also hope SM doesn’t select players because she’s too scared to throw in some inexperience. At this point I’d take Wallam and a handful of other shooters over Garbin.
1/2 time: Fever 39-22
Nelson 17/20
Sinclair 1/5Fowler 33/35
Glasgow 4/7Fever won that 2nd Q 20-13. Fowler just casually has 33 goals at half time, but it’s the Collingwood errors that are proving the difference and a shooting % of 65.
The Comm Games selection door is wide open for two of Dwyer, Samason, Glasgow and Wallam. All 4 should be ahead of Garbin and Koenen. I agree @netballcrazy1 hopefully SM and the selectors are brave enough to take two uncapped shooters in form rather than out of form players with a couple of caps experience. I know who I would want shooting under pressure when the gold is on the line.
Halfway through this 3rd Q and Magpies putting up an improved showing. Fever maintaining a strong lead though at 48-32
I just going to put it out there. Garbin is only good when she has strong players around her. I can see her career slipping away from her by moving to the pies.
Magpies are 2/11 for supershots!
I feel like Garbin would nail her shots more if she actually bent her knees!! Her move to Magpies still doesn’t make sense to me.
Agreed mooz. So many people have moved to the pies and few have tasted success since. I don’t think Garbin’s move to the Magpies was the correct one. With that being said, I do hope that Glasgow gets a shot at the Diamonds. I’ve always thought that she was a great talent, especially at GS. Her rebounding ability is just outstanding and I think playing out at GA has helped with her movement a lot too.
I’m sorry but as a pretty big netball enthusiast who loves watching the game I honestly really struggle to watch any game Fever play. Obviously it’s effective and Fowler is their ticket to a premiership but watching them is an absolute snore.
Not even the excitement of Aryang is enough to keep me engaged
I’ve switched to the ANZ champs instead today.3/4 time: Fever 53-39
Magpies won the 3rd Q and narrowed the gap somewhat, but Fever still with a commanding lead. Magpies’ shooting % of 69 still a major worry.
Obviously a big part of that poor shooting % is the super shot. Fever have attempted 12 so far and scored just 3. By comparison, Fever are 2 from 3.
@enozlas I agree, and the Mystics are starting to become the Fever of the ANZP with Nweke scoring all the goals, it’s not exciting to watch.
The fact that Fever have let slip two WA shooters with amazing potential, first Garbin and now Wallam, all just to keep Fowler blows my mind. Tbh I think Fowler will retire if Fever finally manage to win a premiership.
Yes! I can’t watch the Mystics either!!
It’s interesting because she’s the best shooter in the world and wins all the awards etc and their game plan has always been just get her the ball yet somehow they’ve still yet to win a premiership. Glasgow may be the difference this year however I think you’re right regarding retirement. Then I wonder where-to for fever?
