The GK signing debacle for Firebirds has been a blessing in disguise – EUB has been excellent this game, again. I know that people often call for rookie SSN players to become Diamonds too soon but I can’t help it with Wallam – I want her in the green and yellow! She has handled Bruce, the Australian GK, very comfortably so far and I love the sparkle her and Bueta bring to the game.

Super shots helped Fever towards the end of the quarter as they narrowed the gap to just two. Been a great half. So competitive. In the past, Firebirds have started well but finished poorly. Can they keep up this intensity for four quarters?

I am so willing the FB’s home in this game. Wallam has been simply amazing for just her third SSN game against one of the best keepers in SSN

Timeout. Fever up 46-44. Firebirds need to lift. Fever looking strong at the moment.

    3/4 time: Fever 57-50

    Wallam 33/40
    Bueta 12/17

    Fowler 40/42
    Glasgow 11/19

A 23-14 quarter for Fever. Courtney Bruce coming up with 4 gains to put her side on top. 7 goals is not an unbeatable lead, but this Fever team has their confidence up now. Pitman has been good.

Firebirds lobbing in the ball to Wallam and putting her under too much pressure.

8 minutes to go and Fever holding a 9 goal lead. At the moment, it’s hard to see where Firebirds can eat into this lead. Fever seems to be in control at this point.

Wow, Lightning has really come to play. All sorts of pressure on the Tbirds team, but it’s level at the moment. 8-8.

    1/4 time: Tbirds 13-11

Ball flying around all over the place. Turnovers, intercepts, fumbles, spectacular passes while going out of court. There’s something about Adelaide games. The 1/4 time total in the 3 other games this round were 33, 36 & 36. This game… 24

This is a vastly different Lightning team to the last two weeks. The whole intensity and feeling in the team has lifted. Can they keep it going? Up 16-15.
