Good even start to this one. Vixens up 10-8, courtesy of one less turnover, as we go to our first timeout.
Held ball against Wood. Great defence from Weston. Now, Austin converts a super shot. Vixens 17-12.
Tight first quarter Vixens 18-16. Austin and Wood both hit one Super Shot each.
1/4 time: Vixens 18-16
Koenen 12/13
Wood 3/3Kumwenda 11/12
Austin 6/6Well, Lightning has certainly lifted on some of their recent form. So far anyway. Very competitive opening quarter with the visitors just edging it.
Lightning a great tonight.
Scherian is burning Eddy. Moloney not having her best night. Maybe a chance to move Moloney to WD and get Mundy on?
I don’t think Mannix will be on for much longer.
Agree re mannix.. she’s just so hot and cold
Vixens need to bring Rahni on. Both Vixens shooters are tentative and not presenting.
This is a confident and competent performance from Lightning. Where has this been so far this year? Really taking it to Vixens who lead 24-22
Mannix was great in the TGC but other than the first half against Swifts she has been fairly quiet. Flat footed. Lewis seems to contest more.
I have the sense though the lightning are playing at their best and are just hanging in, vixens are a bit off their game so if they can step up they’ll run away with this.
Vixens look a bit tired. Fresh legs would help. I’d put Moloney back to WD but depends on how confident Simone is with Mundy in WA.
