I am a big Horjus fan but the pressure Simpson is putting on her is half the reason why nearly every ball down court is getting disrupted. Surely time to move her across to GA and get Dwan back to GS.

I hope they give Lucy Austin a contract next year – a different option in GS would be amazing.

    Let’s try to be kind.

    1/2 time: Firebirds 32-23

    Wallam 15/18
    Bueta 13/14

    Potgieter 14/15
    Dwan 7/9

It’s been a defender’s game so far. So many mistakes from both sides. Turnover count is 34!!! Wallam having a devil of a game against Sterling who has 7 gains to this point.

They’re saying Thursday today….but I thought I heard them say on Pivot tonight earlier in the season.

Not a huge fan of Finnan-White as a commentator, she’s always very firebirds focused/biased and rarely provides any insight or thoughts on the other team on court.

Agreed enozlas, Geitz also has that Firebirds bias when commentating. Re Diamonds, I actually think Simpson has had a really good season this year so maybe she’ll get a spot at Diamonds?

Housby had a cracker game but Aryang and Bruce were having an even better game. That performance against an inform Housby surely secured Aryang’s place in CWG. Rav also has to get a place, if nothing else for her connection with Bueta. Regarding the comment about Wallman’s first real challenge, I think it’s more her first real international opponent (she’s come up against great defenders but mostly Australian’s). At first I wasn’t sure if she wasn’t as strong as usual in this game, or if the team were just more hesitant to put it up to her, but it looks like that lob in just isn’t going to work today with Stirling in there.

It’s like Tbirds scrappiness is contagious. Every game they play the opposition seems to really stoop down in their efficiency as well.
I’d love to see the goals from C Pass/Turnovers for teams as a season average compared to when they’re against the Tbirds.

Love Horjus but she’s non-existent this game. Need a change up in WA.

Firebirds up 40-31 and we go to a timeout just as we were about to step into super shot time. What will be the tactics from both teams here?
