She hasn’t done a whole lot wrong but she hasn’t been great either. The GS needs to be the focal point of this team and she’s just not reliable enough this season, way too many turnovers both directly and indirectly.

        3/4 time: Fever 50-37

        Dwan 7/10
        Horjus 11/13

        Fowler 41/42
        Glasgow 2/4

This actually looks a bit similar to the first game tonight. Firebirds led by 1, 8 & 13. And Fever has led by 3, 9 & 13. The longer the match has gone on, the more comfortable Fever has looked.

I think at the end of the day I’m concerned about team morale. Some of these players have been through it with this team and at what point do they start looking elsewhere for opportunities.

On the other hand, Fever on fire tonight. They have unlocked a new combo with Cosh at GA and I think they’ll be in the GF.

I know Tbirds have signed so many imports over the years but I would like to see them sign Cardwell. A good player who knows how to hold strongly and can shoot from range too. Potgieter has lost her long range shooting and needs to re-adjust herself to get closer to the post which is costing the Tbirds.

Dan Ryan’s communication has really improved since his earlier days in SSN. He is very clear and very direct.

Well, it’s a 7-2 run to the Thunderbirds to start the last Q and Fever not looking quite so comfortable now. Dan Ryan calls a timeout with Fever up 52-44

I haven’t seen a lot of Cardwell but if she can shoot from a distance as well, we’ll take her ?

I should probably mention Horjus has also been very costly tonight (7 turnovers), not all Potgieter’s fault.

Oh god, Dwan on for the final 5. I would’ve kept Potgieter on so at least you have a chance with the rebounds.

What are people’s views of Horjus relative to Garbin, Austin, Glasgow?

I think is an absolute star, but seriously hampered by the mid-court (and GS) around her.

Gutsy effort from the Thunderbirds in this last Q, but not quite enough as Fever holds on to win it 60-51

I’m just glad to see they haven’t dropped their heads despite being thoroughly outplayed. Winning the last quarter was good.

Tayla Williams has been good since she came on too.

                            T’Birds won last quarter.

Loved Horjus, but does she try to do too much when GA?

I really like Horjus, and she carries the attack end for the Thunderbirds. Agree she is not well-supported in there. But because of her height she’s probably always going to sit behind those other players. I wonder if the Thunderbirds would have preferred to hang on to her or Glasgow?
