Not sure why Nelson went for the regulation goal towards the end there, but in any case, Fever wins it. Great game! What a change came over the match in that last quarter. Halfway through, Magpies were up by 4 and doing everything right, but Fever surged home to take it.

Why didn’t Magpies put Allen on earlier, or at least during the last 5 minutes of earlier quarters.

    1/4 time: Swifts 17-12

    Harten 4/5
    Dwyer 6/8

    Housby 12/14
    Singleton 5/5

Well, perhaps a bit of a surprise, but Swifts have been on right from the start of this game whereas Giants look a little bit off their game. The two Maddys have started well for Swifts.

Great start by Swifts. Really don’t know why they haven’t played Fraser at WD more this year. She is great there.

What can Giants do to change this up? We all know it won’t be using their bench B-)

Err Cath Cox, Lauren Moore is a GK that has been pushed forward in recent years.

Was interesting watching centre circle the other night when they had a quiz between proud and Harten. Proud was able to answer all the Giants questions such as who leads their NNP, goal assists, minutes etc. proud made the comment they had done their analysis. Harten had no idea on the swifts questions and actually commented that she hadn’t done the analysis.

I read an article with Austin the other day. She spoke with surprise about the level of analysis done at Vixens and how it’s the same whether they win or lose.

Price isn’t even contesting a lot of passage of play. I had Price well ahead of Moloney for the Diamonds spot but not so sure now.

Giants look so flat footed in both attack and defence.

Interesting Giants timeout earlier in Q2….Fitzgerald says stay on your own player, staring at Parmenter not Price…..who was actually standing a bit behind Fitzgerald.

Twice towards the end of Q2… Price trotting behind Proud who is passed the ball, then Price points towards the goal circle indicating …dummy, where the goalers are, where the defenders should go. Funny to watch given she’s being well beaten by Proud.

    1/2 time: Swifts 30-24

    Harten 11/13
    Dwyer 10/15

    Housby 20/22
    Singleton 10/10

The NNP is 188 to 91 and that seems like a fair reflection. But Swifts only won that Q by 1 and their lead of 6 is by no means out of Giants’ reach. Proud having the better of Price so far.

And Price is off. Parmenter to C. I I’ll be interesting to see how she goes.
